To be honest, you know you'd love to hear Vector sermon bible verses to you using his 4Kids dub voice, IE, his Shadow the Hedgehog voice as well:
I can't believe Metal Sonic and Rusty Rose is a ship now.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"
I know you're joking, but I'm certain that at least some folks have been genuinely shipping the two of them ever since Rusty Rose was revealed.
Yes...
Silver's nowhere near as cool as Trunks in his original portrayal though.
He's got similar mannerisms, but he's pretty boring and ineffective.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The spreadsheet also mentions:
"Having lived his whole life in solitude on Angel Island, Knuckles' existence is spent guarding the Master Emerald, never having the freedom to do anything else. If Sonic's life is like the wind, then Knuckles can be said to be the mountain, ever fixed in place. He's a wild, tough, and all-around stubborn kind of guy. In some senses, he is a rival to Sonic, perhaps due to Knuckles' longing to have a life of freedom like the hedgehog's. Also, he has renown as a treasure hunter and is skilled in the ways of martial arts. His destiny as a member of the Echidna tribe is to keep constant watch over the Master Emerald.
His shortsightedness has led to his being duped and manipulated by Eggman. He is currently the only person with the ability to control the Master Emerald."
I always forget that Knuckles was always meant to guard the Master Emerald, so I guess the fact that he appears so often with Sonic in recent games really just downplays or even moves on from what his original purpose was, even if he's shown guarding it in later games. I guess that's what popularity can do to a character.

Well, the Sonic series does take significant influences from Dragon Ball (as do lots of things), but I was specifically talking about the Silver/Trunks thing. I wouldn't be surprised if Silver had a Burning Attack reference I forgot.
Hmm... Maybe Lonely's Archives and Jehtt will collaborate and we'll get a "Future-Future Silver" video.
I think I kinda get it, though.
Even outside of his big inaugural game being the Hindenberg, he does admittedly have an even worse problem as Knuckles in how his backstory makes him hard to fit into stories permanently. They might not have wanted to get into time travel every time, and you can handwave that easier if he's just a minor character in the background.
Though of course, they could fix that by establishing that Silver just more or less lives in the present now. I'd be down for something like that. I know some people didn't like it, but his whole "Leeroy Jenkins Destructive Savior" personality was fun imo, and he had interesting gameplay ideas even if they weren't always executed well.

It's extra weird because he's somehow tied to Blaze, who is not the Blaze from his future, but from a different dimension, and they're both enemies of Nega who is somehow both from the future and Blaze's dimension, and they can both only interact when the plot finds an excuse to have them visit Sonic's timeline/dimension at the same time...

Sure, the manual said it, but the manual said a lot of things. If it wasn't mentioned in the games themselves, how can we be sure it's true?
