I already have no "context" for why people care about those 2 being together.
But if I can hazard a guess...it's because of...a game.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. They're like sisters.
A real mentor student bond.
Sibling dynamic.
That's why Blaze kind of dies at the end.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I personally buy the theory that Blaze is originally from Silver's future, but when she attemtped to seal Iblis away in another dimension and the ending of 06 reworte reality so that it's plot never happened she was basically permanently made part of that universe, thus Princess Blaze.
This also plays into how a lot of Sega's official art involving Silver and Blaze has Star-Crossed Lovers undertones.
They were supposed to be close, but now they are separated by both time and space.
Rush has always been Blaze's origin, '06 has always been non-canon.

(x4) I wonder if he’s going to have a ray gun or if they’re doing away with that entirely.
I need more Omochao love but he has no chance against Silver.
I hope we get Cream as the primary in one of these polls since she got shafted twice. Preferably with Shadow as one of the options.

Here's a good place as any to bring this up:
No mention of any extras, though.
X 6
Nack in Sonic The Comic mostly used his shrinking and enlarging capsules that he keeps on his hat that he invented. Along with an emp gun that Knuckles used to shut down an army of Metal Sonics that Nack had brought as insurance incase they betrayed him.
It just realised that Sonic The Comic Nack is basically an evil version of Ant man or Atom.

"May your heart be your guiding key"
8: the theory doesn't work - not only is Blaze 14 (4 years older than the inciting Solaris incident and which Sonic and Elise went to to undo the game's story), but Blaze is also not some rando in the Sol universe but instead the empire's princess by birthright.
Not to mention that supplemental material surrounding 06 supported her origin story.
It's not like age in Sonic matters. Amy is supposed to be 12, but if she is, she's way Younger than She Looks.
Likewise, I've always pegged Blaze about 16/17.
Yep, all the Sonic characters feel older than their canon ages nowadays, but Amy especially always has. I think they had her younger since she was supposed to be a little girl with an innocent crush in the classic titles but clearly reads as a teenager in Sonic's age range by the Adventure era.
This is why I think Sega dumped the official ages because they clearly don't apply anymore. Cream is the exception, which may be why they shelved her character for a bit. But that was strange to begin with, I think something else is going on there.

She wasn't 12 before Sonic Adventure.

Shadow’s trust issues very much in line with the Adventure era.
Gonna have to disagree on the nowhere to to go thing.
Still plenty to work with.
Hero Antagonist route can go all sorts of places. Especially if Sonic and GUN are on the same side but have different approaches.
Conflict of idealism vs cynicism/pragmatism.
Simply enjoying their fights like a Blood Knight.

So if you came into the fandom afterwards, you'd have no context as to why older fans are so obsessed with them.
"Almost two decades old"
...oh christ, I'm old.
But seriously, as for the "no context" bit, I guess Sonic Team (maybe Japan in general?) figured that even without the context, the whole "adventurous/naïve guy and frosty but still kinda sweet girl" relationship archetype is enough of a draw that they can just leave it alone. (Really, doesn't Japan sort of eat ships like Silvaze like it's candy?)
Sounds a bit convoluted at first, but unless TailsTube whips up a different story, I'll take this one.
