Main Character
The one of the multiple Eggmen, Nine, and Rusty Rose is clearly the one with the most thought actually put into it, and it isn't even remotely close.

I won’t argue that, but focusing only on that would be a different show altogether.
Especially since even though the other shatterspaces are less developed, they are still cool.

My musician pageI know I normally don't really care about the Spin Dash, but with how nerfed the boost feels in the Cyber Space levels maybe I'll actually use it. I'll certainly use it more than I ever used the Drop Dash in Mania, Forces, and this game. I don't recall ever using the Drop Dash in Mania unless it was by complete accident (Although to be fair I don't remember much of my Mania playthroughs), I only remember using it at the end of that one level in Forces because you're required to use it, and in Frontiers I tried playing around with it in the open zone, only to be severely underwhelmed, and trying to use it in the Cyber Space levels is about as effective as Shadow's Chaos Blast from 06. In other words, worthless.
No rain could douse the flames that burn within me!Indeed, Fang the Jerboa, although he's now been rebranded as Fang the Hunter. The english website hangs a lampshade on his many names.
Also, Trip is confirmed to be a girl according to the website.
Spin dash looks like it's the way boost used to be, whereas regular boost in Frontiers no longer does damage to enemies.
Which is basically how I always thought they should do spin dash in the Modern games: more or less a reskin of the pre-Frontiers version of boost - go fast & do damage at once. Though they seem to have used the usual spin-dash rev-up to rebalance it a bit.
Huh. Come to think, him being a Jerboa is from Archie, right? The Archie comics reinvented him as Crocodile Dundee and added a bunch of Australian aspects to him, iirc.
Is this the first time the games have adapted something from Archie, specifically? There's mentions of IDW stuff in Frontiers (if only just mentions), and Mean Bean Machine is basically an AOSTH tie-in iirc, but this is the first Canon Immigrant moment I can think of that Archie got.

Mighty has a modern personality?
You mean in the Mania Adventures shorts? I don't know enough about Archie Mighty to know a lot about what they might have taken from Archie in those.

Nope. Fang/Nack was apparently created as a jerboa, according to his original character designer, Shinichi Higashi (a.k.a. TOUMA) on Twitter here
. It was Western localization (which Archie followed the lead on) that apparently made him into a weasel.

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's Dictionary![]()
Before Archie, Mighty was angry. We didn't get much, but what we did was a very pissed off dude. He wasn't even strong. He was supposed to be, but we never saw him use that strength. Fleetway made him a powerhouse, but as a character, they stuck to what was presented.
It was Archie that made him a Nice Guy. Flynn made his anger issues more apparent, but that original portrayal stuck and Mania took most of it's cues from Archie's take on the character.

Mighty being a nice guy was always canon. The first official description directly from Sonic Team of his personality was the Japanese Chaotix manual which says he's "A traveler who finds worth in life by traveling to various places. When faced with a difficult situation, he shows great ability, but he doesn't like being rough and is a calm person."

Speaking of Fang/Nack the Sniper/Weasel/Jerboa/half-wolf half-weasel, the 8-bit game Triple Trouble, his first appearance, recently got a fan-made 16-bit remake.

@Joshbones I mean in perfect fairness he was a Mythology Gag to Dynamite Dux so that mistake could be forgiven.
