Oh my god, Stage 1-2.
Took me over a fucking hour to get. And the problem with a difficulty spike like that is that it left me very unimpressed by all subsequent S-Rank challenges.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I played the crap out of Sonic 3 and Knuckles, not just because it was my favorite, but because it had a bunch of save files, and I wanted all of them cleared with every possible combination of characters and emeralds. That meant clearing as Sonic with no emeralds, clearing with all the chaos emeralds, and clearing with all the super emeralds.

I'm using Naoto Oshima/Arzest's involvement as a negative because Speed Jungle Zone looks like slightly better version of Stardust Speedway.
It's not the best first impression of the game's level design.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I saw a family picture of Cream's family with Gemerl included in the Minecraft video by Game Apologist.
It is curious how Gemerl was practically forgotten until IDW came along, now you see artwork of him from time to time. I'm happy about it, as I love the robot.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Sonic is the one series where you can say this.
A character is introduced, they don't die, they seem like a mainstay, and you just never get to see them again.

Remember the New Guy? is gonna be in full effect for a lot of kids if he reappears in a main game before that happens.

Accessibility in a narrative sense is the one thing that doesn't really matter for episodic video games.
If people don't want to read the story of Sonic Battle, that's their own fault.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Some documents regarding the creation of AOSTH, SatAM, and Underground were recently shared online, along with an unproduced 4th show called Super Sonic Sisters, about Sonic's polar opposite twin cousins, Monica and Isabelle. They run their high school's TV news show, solve mysteries, and push back against Robotnik's rule. Oh, and they're in space.
No art of Super Sonic Sisters or the other scrapped ideas from the shows has surfaced, but a fanartist was nice enough to provide some visuals for this video.
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses..." - Flower Knight DakiniOh, god. That's like the picture of an awful American 80's/90's adaptation. It's like they mashed every cliche thing you'd see in those shows into one.
It is remarkable how further and further away from any the core games these subsequent shows seemed to get in their conception. Presumably if DIC had kept the media Sonic contract in the 2000s, we'd have had a show about Sonic's 2nd cousin Kyle who doesn't battle Eggman over the Chaos Emeralds but does have relatable coming of age stories with his quirky friends at the mundane high school he attends.

I wounder if this alt timeline would had led to a Penders analogue for hedgehogs and in turn SEGA stepping in what that goes pear shaped and deciding to make no more hedgehogs for the foreseeable future and to forbid any dueterocanocical authors from doing likewise?
Speaking of DIC weirdness, I always kind of wondered why Sonic Underground didn't really tie itself to the then-current Sonic Adventure at all—no Big, Gamma, Chaos, or even any of the existing characters save Knuckles for whatever reason. Kind of assumed it was some ass-backwards mandate on SEGA's part, because it was certainly developed concurrently.
Super Sonic Sisters, funnily enough, would have had an excuse being that it likely would have come out during the start of that mid-90s lull period where the franchise's Saturn debut got fumbled and nothing big really happened.

That seems like an odd way to get an adaptation done. Like, if it was a question of not wanting Archie to change anything, giving them zero information on the script would actually ensure Archie would end up changing a lot.
One Strip! One Strip! On the other hand, I can also easily believe DIC just didn't give a crap. DIC was crazy like that sometimes.
I mean, they almost made a show where Sonic had twin sisters who solve mysteries in space.

I'll be honest, 3&K was the Classic game I found myself playing the most (Though I've only ever played 1, 2, 3&K, and Mania, with the latter 2 being the only ones I've ever finished). I think it's purely because of Hyper Sonic and Super Tails. Just killing everything on screen with the Hyper Flash and watching bosses get utterly obliterated by the Flickies amuses me a bit. Don't expect me to ever fight the Doomsday Zone boss again though, I'd rather try to S Rank stage 1-2 of Cyber Space in Frontiers again.
