Role Model

Bare in what way? That there's not a lot going on? As you get further in you find that the island(s) has a lot of different biomes and points of interest. But if you mean in terms of active life, unfortunately there's not really a lot of life on the islands. Just the Koco, gulls, and enemies.
Oh, well it is mostly grey rock just like Ares Island is mostly yellow rock, but there's also A large geothermal spring, the inactive lava area inside the misty crater, the active lava area by the cannon, the floating platforming areas (that are admittedly less impressive than the ones on Ares Island, but also are less optional), the ice capped mountain, the island with the weird magnetic rock pillars, the much more extensive underground area, and the outlying islands that have a bit more plant life to them. I can see why it seems to be a lot of people's least favorite island, but I can also see some of what they were going for. Also, on every island, when you're going around collecting the musical notes, the game places a few in the more varied areas.
Huh, while I was exploring the island to see if there was other stuff I didn't remember, I triggered another line of Sonic's monologue that I hadn't come across during gameplay. I like that some of these lines are optional, but it's kind of annoying that some are exceedingly rare.
Also, one thing the game doesn't tell you outright: the flying enemy "Eagle" can be freely controlled if you get on top of it, either by homing attacking it from above or by the regular way you defeat it. You can use that to get to some of the outlying islands that are otherwise only accessed by the grind rails from the Island Challenges. Since I didn't find out until afterwards, I didn't check if it can be used to fly to the plot relevant islands locked behind an Insurmountable Waist-High Fence (locked until proceeding through the story).
That too. To be honest, it was around the time of playing that that I wished the "Hacking" minigame could just be accessed and replayed as its own standalone mode. I also wouldn't mind replaying pinball, if it had a more interesting board.

Jokes on them.
I have no love interest!
......
To be clear, the second half of Sonic Prime comes out on my Birthday, so the 13th of July. It's not today.
One Strip! One Strip!I'm actually curious what they'll try and do with The End in a DLC redux; after all, it was kind of just a bit angry moon that was a bullet hell boss. I would suggest having it shapeshift into different things, with different phases where Sonic channels the previous three titans with help from Sage.
I'd say have the Bullet Hell section be the first phase of a 4 phase boss fight, followed by three phases where they ape the fighting styles of the Titans (and set to an orchestral medley of their battle music) and Sonic has to defeat them with Sage's help. A Final-Exam Boss that tests the player's memroy and how much they and Sonic learned from their experiences on the starfall islands.
The KNIGHT one would be where the monolouge comes in.

I knew what you meant. I was wishing those things prospectively.
The island bosses are already final exam bosses. In Frontiers, the regular enemies are the equivalent of a normal game's mini-boss, the Guardians are the equivalent of a normal game's boss, and the Titans are the equivalent of a normal game's final boss. The actual final boss of Frontiers didn't really have anything to add beyond either more of the same as the regular bosses, the standard Sonic final boss formula of Chase Fight with light dodging elements, or what it actually did.
And now that we have the battle rush mode, I even more prefer that the final boss not be a rehash of something we've already beaten.

Perhaps The END could have attacks referencing past Super Sonic final bosses? The fight itself already reminded me of Ultimate Gemerl considering that both fights take place in space, have a melancholy battle theme and have Super Sonic teaming up with an enemy in order to damage the enemy.
"Punishment is not the answer. Punishment is easy. It's lazy. Redemption is hard. Redemption makes you work."-Skulduggery PleasantI rather something closer to a Soul boss if we're going that route.

To be fair, THE END is very much a Kirby Soul boss in terms of design and also in role. It's very similar to Void specifically because they're both the True Final Boss of their respective games that are sphere shaped and use Bullet Hell attacks and are stated to have multiple incarnations.
Design?
Even the simplest looking one has an actual design...it look like Kirby.
