There's so much good that can be said about the game, but weirdly one of my favorites is still that there's a Sonic game that can just be called "Murder."
Like you could ask someone what Sonic games they've played, and they could say "And Knuckles, R, Adventure 2 Battle, Battle, Rush Adventure, Forces, and MURDER ."
It kills me that I can say, "Between letting Sonic grow up a bit in Frontiers and then immediately murdering him afterwards, I'm a big fan of the recent directions that the franchise has taken," and it is neither a joke nor a backhanded compliment.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Thinking about Pariah's video, I actually chuckled about something. Pariah was annoyed that the plot threads of the characters don't go anywhere, in this case, he mentions the characters romantic feelings between Sonic and Amy, and Knuckles and Rouge.
That's what happened in Sonic X too. Oddly enough season 2 ended with both couples seemingly ending together. By the Metarex saga though, Rouge and Knuckles grew distant, and Sonic and Amy...had a vague relationship, but I assume they became an official couple.
So, yeah, my two cents. Knuckles and Rouge relationship seemingly vanished after 06 in the games, and IDW doesn't have them interact much (and when they do, it's hilarious) and Prime only have the Distopian world with them as partners of the resistance.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.I for one hope Barry the Non-Binary Quokka shows up again on occasion to point out how utterly insane some of the adventures are. Doesn't have to be a regular thing, that's a gag that could run its course, but it was refreshing to have someone who actually second-guesses some of the stuff that comes out of the character's mouths.
You are not alone. It's hilarious how much of an ass whooping Sonic takes (offscreen) in Murder. Like, dude gets poisoned by a dart, pummeled unconscious by metallic arms, dragged bodily through several hundred feet of tiny service vent, and dumped unceremoniously onto the ground where his friends let him stay there unconscious for what's apparently at least an hour or so.
It's like the worst beatdown he's gotten since Mephiles, and it's entirely played for laughs.
I had an idea that if they keep doing the big open world hub/platform merge of Frontiers, and eventually need a travel system between maps like Mario Odyssey has, they could have the transit system be a train and Barry be the attendant, making comments about your progress if you talk to him like the various stuff on the airship in Odyssey.

Mephiles was (ironically enough) quite merciful.
It was one and done.
The only two hits were him hitting Sonic (with a laser blast) and Sonic hitting the ground.
Murder sounds like Rasputian levels of homicide.
One Strip! One Strip!![]()
The train in Murder was a special event train, but otherwise such an idea would be great to see Barry again!
After Mania, every Sonic game release can fall into one of several categories:
- Racing, runner, or olympics
- Updated Re-release
- Cameo in another franchise (Smash, Roblox)
- Sonic gets beat to (near) death.
- Forces, Frontiers, and Murder isn't exactly a long list, but it is a trend.
Murder has "fallen" to the 64th highest rated game on Steam
, right behind Undertale.

I'm kind of glad Murder (...this is gonna take some getting used to...) showed that its some of the basic traits about these characters and just let them...interact.
It alleviates videos like Pariah's where everyone feels like that there needs to be constant change and growth for the characters.

An... Attempt.
"Your favorites just hang out" is an underappreciated genre.

You are not alone.Development is good.
Not every character is made to go through an arc and the appeal has never been that they would.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Around the time Tails and Shadow had that conversation about coffee, it hit me that the two of them never interact and it's sort of weird. It's not like Shadow isn't around, but he always just talks to Sonic and vice versa - like an imaginary friend or something.
It's like playing Fighter Z's story mode and realizing that Krillin and Vegeta barely interact despite both always being around Goku.
That, and I'm almost certain its the first time Rouge and Blaze have ever interacted in the games outside of party games and such (maybe they interacted in Rivals?), and you wouldn't think they would cross paths too often given how distant their parts of the universe are, but here we get a whole part of the story that's just the two of them and its great.

I would have called it “unwillingness to commit to new molds for what at the time they might not have been confident would be more than a one-off”.

If it weren't for the comics...I'm fairly certain Rouge and Blaze's entire dynamic would only been based on their one victory animation in Mario & Sonic 2016.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I just realized the comics have given us another example of a team that includes a member who is the natural predator of another. Foxes eat hedgehogs, chameleons eat insects, big cats eat rabbits, bats eat robots, weasels and hawks eat small birds like ducks and swallows, and wolves eat sheep.
You’re allowed to not like it, but you can’t force a topic of conversation to never come up.

To be honest, I prefer the music from Murder to the regular boss music. And seeing the family guy death pose on a 3D model is unreasonably hilarious.
