Now that's just boring. Hell, maybe even out-of-character. You mean to tell me a bombastic man with love for carnivals and trademarks just never thought of a bombastic name to refer to his army?
I know individual robots have names like Motobugs or Egg Pawns, but his pattented "Badniks" are out of line?
And let's not pretend is too on the nose, Eggman recognizes he is evil in Heroes ("I'll show you what true evil is!").
I'm half joking here.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Look, I wish Metal Sonic disguising himself as Eggman would let us see subtle hints of Metal's personality (like him telling Shadow to piss off as he has no memory), but turns out Metal was imitating Eggman to the letter.
Eggman could kill it in the movie industry by having Metal Sonic being an ac-tor.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. The one thing I'm baffled about Heroes in retrospect is that they didn't invent two sidekicks for Metal.
Like, it's so weird. The whole game is built around the team-of-three mechanic. Every hero team is a trio. Stages are built around trio mechanics. There's multiple trio-vs-trio battles throughout the game. Everything is centered around it... except the big battle at the end? Just feels like a waste of idea.
Imo they should've had Neo Metal Sonic appears with - like - a Robot Tails and Knuckles as disposable minions/sidekicks. The final boss has two stages: a trio battle with Team Metal, but when you beat them Metal Sonic pulls a DBZ and absorbs the other two to become Metal Madness.

I'm not sure about that (I find myself doubting the writing put that much effort into Metal's personality) but imo it's a worse idea than actually having the main gimmick of the game continue to be relevant to the whole experience.
Besides, the alternative idea I gave was an example of how to keep the gimmick going while still having Metal be a lone wolf who backstabs his allies.

Putting them in Heroes would've done nothing for the decision to split/divide that came a decade later.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. You could argue it might have prevented the decision.
Like, depending on how much they did or didn't change Team Hooligan, they might have not seen a point in the separation when they were already using even more classic characters.
Btu the point that they could have been re-tooled still stands as well.
One Strip! One Strip!Oh I'm sure that Metal Overlord being a lone wolf in the game about teamwork is intentional, not only is this Shiro Maekawa (who in my opinion has the most impressive writing credits overall throughout all of the games), but also you got stuff like "the real superpower of teamwork!" tossed about.
And tbh, it's a lot better than having the main villain be someone who forms their own team of 3 because then you kinda lose the idea of "teamwork good yo" and it just becomes "good guys win because they're the good guys"
It read that way to me, the way gatekeeping, spoonfeeding and the like were brought up. The question would have came across as more innocent if only the cartoons were mentioned, but, my bad, it is on me.
Hang on, you read "I'm trying to help him avoid gatekeeping and spoonfeeding" and got "I'm gatekeeping and spoonfeeding him just what I want"? That post was anti-gatekeeping and spoonfeeding.
Watched Sonic The Hedgehog 2 The Movie and I gotta say, as much as I complained about the human sidekicks as much as anyone (Ever since Sonic X even) the entire wedding sequence in that film is balls out hilarious start to finish.
You are not alone.Pariah goes over P-06. Also, I want to point he said out that with Silver out there's no reason to ever go back to the original. ... Uh, what? Even before Silver was released name 1 reason why you would still go back to the original. And all this is coming from a guy who doesn't even play mods, rom hacks, and whatnot.
For fun. Sonic 06, to me at least, is firmly in So Bad, It's Good territory. And I also have no interest in mods or fanhacks or things of the like. So... Its glitchy 06 weirdness for me.

Thats odd, Iizuka wrote those.
