Oh. Yeah, neither of those things were particularly hard to get, so I didn't notice anything containing them as being special. You can easily get skill points by doing tons of tricks off any vertical spring (like the one near the waterfall on the first island), and fishing of course can get tons of everything else.
Catching up on the IDW comics and Surge has just been introduced and she's a lot of fun. Even Sonic points out that she's kind of an archetypal "has no love for the world and takes everything seriously" foil for him, but she takes it to such an extreme that it still feels fresh.
I need her to interact with Shadow at somepoint really badly.
She's everything I wanted out of an Evil Counterpart for Sonic and takes it even further than Metal Sonic ever did.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I've not read very far, but I fully believe that Metal Sonic is going to hate Surge even more than he hates Sonic. "You're not going to replace sonic because I'm going to replace him first, and you're not good enough to be my copy" are fighting words if ever I've heard them. Plus Belle can kind of understand Metal Sonic and talk for him now? So I want to see more from Metal to make use of that.
I don't follow the comics but I was curious about what y'all were talking about, so I googled Surge. And wow.
She does look like somebody's tryhard OC.

Well, yes. She and Kit are Dr Starline's edgy OCs.
She's highly likely to be a parody, but done better, of Scourge
.

Her back story is that a jaded Doctor Eggman fan, named Starline, picks up a duo of kids and turns them into cyborgs capable of replacing Tails and Sonic (Kit is a water powered Tails equivalent, and Surge a lightning powered sonic equivalent) but he erased their entire original personalities and programmed Surge to hate sonic and Kit to love Surge, but never bothered to give them a reason why, or even fake memories or backstory. So they have a bad time.
You do see a panel Surge before her origin and she is shockingly normal and meek looking. Her pericings seem to be part of her augmentations.
Actually, yeah. The scenario just makes too much sense to do eventually, like as a culmination of Shadow's development, especially given that Sega is actually loosening the reins on him. Heck, maybe we can reveal that his "greatest failure" thing with the Metal Virus is even worse than we thought because now he'd be like "that sloppiness is how you lost Maria."
Like, if Sonic can't talk a pair of living weapons (we can consider Surge and Kit to be living weapons, right?) into understanding that they don't have to be killers, then maybe a fellow living weapon (Shadow) can.
...And if he can't, we can at least look forward to seeing him bamboozle them with how much experience he has over the two of them and how he won't hesitate to fight dirty and they can be all "Sonic wouldn't fight like that!" And he's like "I'm not Sonic."

Outside of having the same color-scheme inspiration as Scourge, she's not really meant to be like him at all.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I do wonder how willing Ian is to kill of his original characters in the comic. My girlfriend and I recently discussed if we think Belle would eventually be killed off, given that once she eventually finally meets Sage and comes to terms with what that means for her, her story arc would be concluded.
However it feels needlessly grim for the tone of the comic.
She also has the same name but with two letters removed. Just throwing that out there because it's the first thing I noticed when it was brought up.

NGL, I'd love six seasons and a movie of all this.
