Cream would probably win if it wasn't Vector they were gonna be paired with.
The Ship Tease was too good to pass up
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Pretty much, yeah. Had it been literally any other character, Cream could've won this poll easily. But she was pitted against Vanilla, who is a popular romantic interest for Vector thanks to Sonic X. Cream didn't stand a chance.
Not gonna lie, between this and Cream previously being pitted against Infinite, the main villain of a main title who was hyped up and had yet to receive Sonic Channel artwork... I'm convinced that Cream is actively being set up to lose by whoever is making these polls. And being already sensitive about how Cream is lowly regarded compared to other characters, it's infuriating. Cream had better be given a third shot in these polls with an actual fair match-up. Or better yet, just have Cream be the "constant" of the next art and make us choose which two characters get paired with her. It's well warranted after getting fucked over twice.

RE: Vanilla winning the poll over Cream:
I mean, we haven't seen Vanilla in a game since Sonic Advance 2 and 3. Pretty sure she needs this win more than Cream.
Also, do we know the full context of the Vector X Vanilla pairing or not really? Because I was caught off-guard by the Silver X Elise art having figure skating and here, it's saying something about Vector being "Vectorman"? Not sure if that's going to be a pastiche on western superheroes or heroes like Kamen Rider and Ultraman.
It's a reference to the Vectorman series about a SEGA owned tall green creature who debuted on the Genesis having a similar name. They also made a reference to him in the Sonic/Mega Man crossover comic. Don't be surprised if the art has Vanilla and Vector picking up trash and making the neighborhood clean and spotless.

And I'm not arguing against that. I love Vanilla as a character and am glad we're going to get official artwork of her soon. I just wish it didn't have to come at the expense of Cream. Like, why wasn't it "Espio vs Vanilla" for Vector's isekai? Make it a battle between the two most popular Vector ships. Or perhaps a choice between Vanilla and Knuckles? As it was, Cream was given a second shot after the very first poll, where she was pitted against Infinite and lost by literally 0.01%, and was put into a match up she had no chance of winning. That's complete bullshit.

\Vector also had some notable Papa Wolf protection towards Cream in Sonic X. So it made sense in that regard. Both of those are Sonic X factors.
It wasn't just about "who would he go on a date with", but who had relatable connections to among the female cast, but in different ways.
These are kind of awkward ones to begin with and don't follow one entire route. But yes, Cream had no chance in the second one, indeed. Regardless of the logical connection for who VS who.
Shadow? The very fact that Infinite barely won should tell you something, so its not like it was a landslide victory either. Recent bias be damned.
Honestly, the fact that they haven't really done much of anything with Cream in recent years plays a role here too. This poll was more in service to Vector than anyone, and Vector simply has more of a dynamic, however small it is, with Vanilla than Cream. Think they've had one or two interactions that weren't particularly noticeable either. But Vector having a thing for her Mom? You can run with that.
If they were to have a poll with say, Marine or Cream on who should be paired with Blaze? Then she might have a chance there...maybe.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Let's refrain from repeatedly bashing an aspect or character of a particular work. It doesn't contribute anything productive to the thread.
Macron's notesFiiine. I won't do it again.
Anyway, I doubt proximity bias is a factor. Elise hasn't been seen in 15, and she won her poll (admitedly it was close). Pachachamac is barely seen, and he lost.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Admittedly, I was among those who voted for Elise, and that's cause I felt she wasn't that bad a character and deserved a second shot (and what a second shot she got). But it was seriously a tough choice between her and Merlina. I suppose Elise ultimately won because she was more well-known, and more associated with Silver since both debuted in Sonic 06. Merlina, by comparison, was exclusive to a spin-off game for the Nintendo Wii who had no association with Silver. All the same, that was a good freaking match-up that could've gone either way.
Pachacamac, I feel, had the misfortune of being pitted against Chaos to accompany Tikal in an illustration. Like, I think only Shadow or Knuckles had a remote chance to compete against Chaos to be "paired" with Tikal, because Tikal and Chaos are just that closely associated with each other. Certainly didn't help that Pachacamac is an extremely minor character who was also an asshole who caused the decimation of his species out of power-hungry greed, and also attacked his own daughter (Tikal) to that end.
Honestly, I found her normal design to work better. The Sonic characters are actually pretty small compared to normal humans, especially ones of a closer adult age. I wasn't bothered by her style. Eggman, on the other hand, looked downright strange in that game. But she's also the only human that actually didn't look all that bad(the rest were very strange in comparison).
Anyway, I easily voted for Elise. I like Sonic 06(not that I deny it has its issues). And I got further in Black Knight too, but I barely remembered Merlina in comparison. One game simply did it more for me, heh. It does help I am not a big fail of rail controls(though it's more that they aren't that great with Sonic. It's been a lot better in some of Star Fox, mostly 64, one of my favorite games).
Shadow?I figure the major characters will be in one of these eventually, so it's not worth getting worked up about, and I can definitely get behind giving the more seldom seen characters their brief moment.
Cream will have her day. She just got referenced two games in a row in the meantime. Conversely, this might be the only thing done with Vanilla this year.
A bit of a "cat out of the bag" moment, but Morio Kishimoto confirmed a leak from a few days ago/last week
, ie. the spin-dash move files in Sonic Frontiers and it will be implemented in the game's next update.
I think it's fair to say they really didn't account for how broken and spammable the stomp is for the battle rushes, particularly against the titans.
My musician pageThat's a really interesting catalogue you put together there Black Rose Princess
I gotta bookmark that for later. Fascinating data. Thank you for the effort.
Also just played through The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog perfect game no notes.
You are not alone.

People saw Cream already...
They want to see someone who hasn't appeared since 2005.
