It would fit better than Ranger at least. The only game where Silver is as physically capable as other characters is Rivals where everyone plays exactly the same. In 06 he was one of the slowest and least athletic characters, and in spin-offs he's always a Flight or Technique-type character grouped together with others like Tails and Eggman. It's not very fitting for him to be a martial class.
I wonder if they made that in honor of the upcoming D&D movie lol Very cool nonetheless. And YUS to more Cream acknowledgement!
Though, while I think Druid suits Cream (what with her affinity with Chao, the closest thing to nature spirits in Sonic, and arguable association with flowers), I feel like Cleric would be more fitting since Cream is the White Mage without question. And Cream loves everyone, not just plants and animals lol
And of all characters to be the Cleric, Cheese?! He ought to be Cream's "animal summon" (which I looked up, Druids can do that). Or have her be the Ranger, with Cheese as her pet, and Silver could take on Cleric. Clerics at least use magic, which is kind of psychic-y.
Tangle for a 2D platformer (since Ristar isn't going to get a sequel anytime soon). But my bigger preference would actually be Whisper. Before it's too late, SEGA could tap into the more lighthearted shooter market where games like Splatoon, TF 2, Overwatch, and others are.
Really, a lot of the IDW characters are well designed for at least a cameo appearance.
- Mina: Being my favorite Archie character aside, she could yield interesting options for a more music based take on gameplay and bring in a non-Hedhehog speedster with all the lore implications that would bring to the table.
- Lanolin: Would open up a TPS-style gameplay, would give a bit more insight to her adventures without sonic, etc.
- Whisper: Want to bring back the Wispons from Forces? she's the best option for that.
- Mammoth Mogul/Surge/Mimic: Franchise is still in dire need of recurring non-Eggman villains, and a Vandal Savage ersatz, an anti-Sonic and a dick who has no personal connection to him at all for wouldbuilding purposes would be fine starts to that end
- Sonic Universe!Enerjak: not the charterer himself, but more so the general concept. A Kang the Conqueror-like villain whose MO is stealing and weaponizing the souls of his victims in a manner distinct from the Robotization we associated with the "good" doctor while still evoking it (and the Zombots)
Outside of Soleanna and Silver both appearing in the game, this is the second Soleanna reference isn't it?
One Strip! One Strip! Its kind of funny how Sega of America spent years shying away from and mocking 06 as much as possible, to the point where Journalists still make fun of it to this day despite being over 15 years old.
Meanwhile Sega of Japan seem much more willing to embrace 06 and references to it.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.In terms of villains, Mimic is my top choice who would make an excellent addition to the games in terms of narrative. I'd thoroughly enjoy seeing Rough and Tumble get in the mix as well as silly bosses. As for allies; Tangle, the Down Unda and Knothole Freedom Fighters could bring extra value to narrative, puzzles and exploration.
Haven't read up on the comics yet to get an idea on Lanolin, but I dig her design. I'm interested in what she could bring to the games if brought in.

Certified, self-appointed Sonic VisionaryLanolin didn't grow beyond a minor recurring character until very recently. But I'm glad for her, I figured she'd get more play eventually.
I haven't noticed Sega of America be positive or negative towards 06. But yeah, English language seem to have a contractual requirement to mention "rough transition to 3D" and "kissed a human" in every Sonic review. It's low hanging fruit writing cliches.

Nack/Fang seems like the type of person to think why not use both.
Nack seems like the character to theme a level around, rather than just being the boss battle he will snipe at you through the level. Act 2 could have him using his size altering capsules (from Sonic The Comic) to make Sonic tiny and through the level he would try to hit you with his hand that would seem giant to Sonic and the player but is just regular size.
For the boss he would either bounce on his tail like the Heavy Magician illusion did, turn into a giant to try stomp on you just like the Death Egg Robot, use whisps like spike or rocket as attacks. After he has taken he eight hits he tries to transform into a even bigger giant but when he does the floor gives way beneath him.

"May your heart be your guiding key"I just see it as Sega of Japan having no sense of shame with that dumpster fire. Anyone would have dropped Silver and pretend it never happened, but this is the Sonic franchise, where everything works backwards; Sega of America, however, do. Then again, Sega of America has its own can of worms like the Boom series, but nothing they do rivalizes 06 in infamy.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. That was a pointless gesture anyway...
Big hadn't even appeared in the series for years by the time they announced that.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. And its not like Silver headlines any games anymore either. Sure, most of the supporting cast are kind of sidelined but Silver (along with Blaze) was a former protagonist and now barely gets to do anything whereas Tails/Knuckles/Amy are still featured prominently and Shadow gets token gestures due to his popularity.
So Silver is kind of in that awkward area where they acknowledge his existence and that's it, but he's not really relevant to anything either.

Could Silver be a Wizard?
