Eh, there’s an argument to be made there but we’re on a new page and this ain’t really relevant so let’s end it here.
On the actual subject, I don’t think “Sonic X” was bad, certainly not on oral-scrotum-fixation levels.
I mean, it has Sonic saying “Shit” in front of Creamy, that sort of experience isn’t something you get from any other show!

"In a move surprising absolutely no one"Sonic X isn't really a bad show as much as it was one that failed to live up its potential. Chris was an obvious albatross in those first two season, but characterization was iffy at points, and it often struggled at balancing the more dramatic/domestic aspects.
While I had my issues with the OVA, (everything with Sara, the English voice for Sonic) there were so many interesting elements to it that its a pity a full fledged series never came out of it.
I would still recommend newcomers eventually watching Boom, as the sitcom characterization and in jokes work better (albeit rage inducing to some fans) if one is well familiar with typical mainline Sonic.
I was just about to bring up Subbing vs. Dubbing. And yes, the X sub is better than the dub without a doubt. So if she does want to watch X, make sure she watches the sub.
There's still some underlying flaws with Sonic X, subbed or dubbed but yeah the dub was a 4kids job so I'm sure you all know what that means. The long and short is
- Some scenes got cut that shouldn't have
- The dub VA for Rouge focused more on sounding sexy than, well, sounding right and as a result she was pretty damn bad for a while.
- Dub Cream was just as bad
- Cutting "Live & Learn" from the Adventure 2 adaptation
- UK airings never got the "GOTTA GO FAST" intro, we got some other...thing inside. Though we did get the outro version...that frequently got talked over.
OTOH it was the debut of Mike Pollock as Eggman. And I'm pretty sure it doing well overseas is what got us Season 3 AKA "Sonic does Dragon Ball GT.

Are explosions science?Well if she doesn't like Chris, just tell her how he dies in Sonic Omens /s
Chris wouldn't be that bad if he wasn't such a goddamn screentime vampire who outright steals Amy's role in Adventure 2 and if his overall issues didn't come across as a privileged spoiled brat. He lives in a goddamn palatial mansion FFS.
Are explosions science?Oh right yeah, Amy got turned into a weird and frankly ugly caricature of her usual self. I feel like this and games up to Sonic & the Black Knight were where Sega felt they were making her flatout unlikeable and started to tone down the Sonic madness with her a bit. I mean they remember she cares for tiny animals and does tarot readings so...
Are explosions science?Y'all. I am so happy for this to finally be happening. You have no idea. I have waited far too long for it. I am literally at edge-of-my-seat shut-up-and-take-my-money mode.
They have to. They have to, right? Like. You can't give us playable Amy in games where Super Sonic is an unlockable and then turn around and say no. They have to do it. It's required. Right?
I'm going to be so mad if they come up with some bullshit reason not to do it. Or, like, just put some sparkles around her like Tails's Super Form used to be.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Haven't you heard Tobias?
Only male hedgehogs can go super.
It's a massive dick move, but they already baked in a reason to never allow Amy to go Super with the Chaos Emeralds.
....now, if a certain cat princess lends Amy the power of the Sol Emeralds however....
One Strip! One Strip!Tails and Knuckles going Super/Hyper is basically treated as a gameplay aspect in the classic style titles they've never gone back to (or even really referenced all that much) in canon, so Amy will probably treated as the same thing. It'll be a fun unlockable for Origins not likely to return in any non-Classic releases.

There's no such thing as "jokes" in Sonic. Every one-off reference is 100% canon and ties into everything, because everything is canon. Except for Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.
But seriously folks, "everything is canon" is a cop-out. Sort of an unrelated point/rant, but Ian's frequent references to random bits and bobs of DEEPEST LORE irks me, since there's a subset of fans that take his one-off jokes as gospel truth and try to connect everything into a unified field theory. Maybe I'm just a Fan Hater, idk.

No...randomness tends to stick to stuff that actually does real.
Maybe if Sega tries their hand at producing another anime, this will be worth discussing.
