According to Ian Flynn he's still a mutated Chao, the Ancients are so far back in the past it's like our distant ancestors.

The Protomen enhanced my life.I do really like the general character designs of this series so I always enjoy it when they introduce new characters.
Its the difference between say Dark Gaia and the Babylon Rogues. The former is just a big boring generic monster, the latter at least have fun bird designs, a green hawk, street-girl swallow, and a big-ass albatross with black eyes.
Even the Deadly Six and Infinite, I can appreciate their general concept and overall look even if the actual execution of their characters isn't that good.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The Deadly Six have fine designs, they're weird demons, with a lot of personality. I think their good designs are really underserved by the bad writing and underwhelming abilities, though.
I maintain that a better way to handle the Deadly Six would be for them to be actual demons and for their gimmick to be demon magic that can compete with Sonic on a physical level, instead of having them rely on weird mechanical proxies. The only weird proxy I would keep is Zavok's dragon, which fits him because he's the leader of the team. And I would change his second phase from him just growing giant to him fusing with his dragon.

Said Monsters do work as a contrast though.
Its the Kirby effect.
They just kept doing it and played it out.
That's what they were conceptualized as actually. Specifically they're based on Oni.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Yea but that puts him in the category of usurping Eggman since the latter is still part of the game.
When I say unaffiliated, I mean no connection whatsoever, not even usurping. It's someone who is the villain from start to finish without interacting with Eggman at all.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Without interacting at all? I think the closest you get is Black Doom. He definitely does interact with Eggman of course, but its entirely antagonistic between the two from the start. Also, Shadow the Hedgehog doesn't even really pretend that Eggman is the Big Bad of the game, so I wouldn't say Black Doon usurps the plot either.
Double posting, my apologies. I'll delete if appropriate, but there's an official real-life version of Amy's Tarot Card deck
that we saw in the IDW Comics' Trial By Fire arc and the Sonic Origins cutscenes.
78 cards with original artwork and even a guidebook. It'll release later this October.

I'm inclined to believe the comics aren't fully canon, because of the "Am I a burden to you?" scene in Frontiers. Comic!Tails already had his discussion to excuse his Out-of-Character Moment in Forces.
To be honest, I'm not as negative on Forces as most people seem to be. The "fanbase" tends to have a major Accentuate the Negative issue. And there were issues in Forces. The levels were far too short, and Tails' characterization, being the major two. But I wouldn't say it was terrible.
Sticks, at least, is in unmissable dialogue. Hopefully that means she'll come to the comics, actually.
How many of those missable quotes did the rest of you get? In my entire playthrough, I think I only got 3 or 4 optional ones:
- The one on the first island about having Rouge steal the Emeralds
- One about the waterfall that I'm pretty sure is mandatory
- The one in Cyberspace about Jet and Babylon (this might be mandatory)
- The one on the last island about how Eggman's a mess
- One I missed because I'd muted my computer while I was grinding up the ring and speed levels (they really need to fix how that's done...)
- And maybe one more I forgot

Sega has final word on anything, and Flynn just kind of goes along with it. He mostly just pitches ideas to Sega and they either agree or deny it.
So if Sega decided Tangle or Sticks aren't canon tomorrow then that's that.
Plus I highly doubt Sega will ever actually use them despite being namedropped.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Kishimoto responds to the idea of bringing many older characters into newer games, including the Freedom Fighters, with positive interest.
Unsurprisingly, all hell breaks loose. Reading the replies has been nearly cancer inducing.

No sane person would want to draw the Time Eater.
That just looks like a nightmare.
