Playing Frontiers for the first time, really enjoying it
The open world does work pretty well since you naturally want to move around unencumbered same as Sonic
Though the kick attack is pretty over-powered. I can cheese most enemies with it cause it doesn't have a timer
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I have this personal injoke about associating Eurobeat songs with Sonic characters, and Shadow gets mad at me because I associated him with all the Leslie Parrish songs - Save Me, Killing My Love, and Remember Me. ![]()

Also I see Sonic has mastered using the "Sonic Wind" attack that he coined in Adventure 2 after copying Shadow's Chaos Spear and uses it as a ranged attack in Frontiers (and as the horizontal Air Trick in Advance 2).

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I was thinking of words Shiro Maekawa once said about him not liking the Sonic from the Genesis era. I don't know what he meant by it. Was it the style? the theme?
If it is the theme, maybe this is why the staff at Sega tried to avoid writing Doctor Eggman? At his core, Eggman is a Straw Character about environmentalism, a generic bad guy who does what he does because he just wants to hurt the environmentment. I mean, it is a perfectly fine reason, but if the bad guy is a bad guy, it doesn't really allow for other themes, which is maybe what Maekawa meant?
Anyway, here I'm thinking if Eggman most human traits in Adventure 2 and Frontiers is because the staff really doesn't want him to be a one note straw character. It's just a guess.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.I don't get the impression that Eggman wants to cause environmental catastrophe, it's just he doesn't care. One of the thing Darker and Edgier takes like Sonic the Comic or SATAM do is make Eggman deliberately cruel and sadistic, and even loving pollution like a Captain Planet villain. Game Eggman however makes these urban hellscapes because he thinks they're stylish and he likes the aesthetic, and if the environment doesn't like it that's their problem. It's one of the few things about his villainy that even approaches subtle

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love.""Kudos to Suzy Goldish for taking our unsynchronized lemons and making synchronized lemonade."
The Protomen enhanced my life.Yeah, Eggman in the games doesn't hate nature, he's just apathetic to the damage his schemes and inventions cause it. The Sonic franchise's approach to environmentalism is actually rather mature for something that originated in the 90s. Sonic CD makes a point of how nature and technology can be together in harmony, and one of Sonic's most prominent allies is an inventor himself.
When you think about it, Amy being an Action Girl didn’t pop out of nowhere.
Put the pieces together and we have a specific moment that acted as the trigger for her to step up and learn how to properly fight.
The scene where Sonic got jettisoned to space in SA 2. That moment from her perspective can be seen as her carelessness and comparative inability to fight nearly getting Sonic killed. In short she blames herself.
Heck, the Black Arms were foreshadowed as early as SA 2.
Go to scene when Eggman releases Shadow. There is some yellow text rotated 90 degrees. It says IIRC Black Monster and something about a comet.
Meaning Shadow The Hedgehog was the final act of a trilogy.
Earlier in the month,
Sonic's Japanese Twitter ran a poll whether to have Amy paired up with Metal Sonic or Blaze for February's isekai romp. It was close, but the vote went to Blaze, and now we got the result of said poll:
Sonic Channel presents: February's isekai theme featuring Fortune Teller Amy and...MAGICAL GIRL BLAZE?!?
(I got a feeling the fan artists are gonna have a field day with this one!

<Wonders how a big ass hammer helps with Fortune telling>
Amy....what are you doing to these people?
One Strip! One Strip!

How many times have we seen that specific phrasing?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
