Right. I will now kill what I started before it consumes the thread.
They've seen to have gone back on a few things from the last decade.
Sonic has gotten serious again for one thing. And Maria seems to be back in Shadow's backstory (along with them no longer pretending the Arc isn't a thing). They're still sticking to the whole there's no team Dark thing, but baby steps.
What else would you like to see them bring back, or what concepts would you like to see them ditch?
I want to see them dump the only male hedgehogs can go Super thing.
Not sure for Amy to get a Super Form, but maybe so we can see more specialized forms for Tails, Knuckles, and maybe other characters.
Also, Let Mighty and Ray be part of the cast proper again.
One Strip! One Strip!I don't actually mind the whole male Hedgehog thing, because while specific wording of it is dumb, I do think not just anyone should be able to just go Super and it should be reserved for a few to prevent Uniqueness Decay.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Legendary blue hedgehog with an attitude. Is the _fastest_ in the land. Strong sense of justice but irreverent to authority. Impatient (does not like to stand around). Not detail-oriented (short attention span). Likes anything fast. Loyal to his friends but enjoys his independence. Street smart, but warm at heart. Loves beauty, nature, cool music and adventure! Not a hero, but has lots of self confidence and courage.
the only thing that seems different from american sonic is being irreverent to authority and even then that depends on the adaption, and not being a hero.
As someone far more interested in the Chaos Emeralds and going Super for its gameplay implications than story ones I'm all for other characters being powered up by them. Given that Sonic and Shadow are already presented as special with the broader narrative, them also being only able to go Super isn't even necessary anyway.
If anything how the Emeralds affect characters differently is an interesting story route to potentially explore; perhaps one goes a little bit Fleetway Super Sonic esque and that has an effect on them as a result.
Tails got a flicky army...
Which is just 4x as many Cheese's that Cream got.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. No they aren't. They flash white, just like Super Sonic does. Their base palettes are unchanged, they just get the flashing effect (and that applies to everything that shares that palette on screen).
Also, Super Tails got reworked. Now the one with the flickies is Hyper Tails.

They just got rid of the flickies for no real reason.
Oh, you were referring to Origins...ok.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The "General Sonic the Hedgehog" game?
It's pretty good, you may interact with some neat people.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It kinda falls apart near the end though. The last 2 "islands" having the aesthetics of Chronos Island, not to mention all you do in Rhea Island is just climb 6 towers, the whole cyber corruption thing getting resolved in the exact same cutscene where it's finally fully kicking in, Tails, and Knuckles even did to fix it, both final bosses are very underwhelming (though in the true final boss' case, it's not because of the difficulty. That fight is anything but easy), Sonic having no reaction to Sage sacrificing herself and telling him to look after Eggman, etc. And even though this is before the last 2 islands, Chaos Island is a giant mess. So many springs and dash pads that force you into 2D sections, most of which you can't get out, even if you clear the challenges on the other islands to summon a grind rail to connect them to eachother, it can be a real hassle to remember which rail leads to which island, and to top it all off it houses the 2 worst minigame in the entire game aside from A Grave Mystery. Speaking of minigames, I gotta ask. Really? Pinball? Shouldn't The Ancients be more advanced than that? Literally the saving grace of Chaos Island is that it has the best Titan fight and theme. I freaking love Find Your Flame. I don't think the game beats Rise of Lyric's ost, but it's good to know that the franchise still pulls out good music.

No rain could douse the flames that burn within me!

Well that's Values Dissonance at work right there.
We Americans have a pretty blatant case of Black-and-White Morality when it comes to children's media. Good guys are good people who do good things, and bad guys aren't. Gray morality usually being reserved for more "adult" works.
Japanese media I've noticed don't have as rigid of a defined morality; what we consider "good" they may not.
Actually, you know what trope is relevant here? Japanese Spirit. That is a pretty good breakdown of how Japanese values work on this site...its probably incredibly simplified though.
