Josh brings up an interesting point about the whole... The moment Sonic had lost the console war that the Critical dissonance basically came off as kicking the poor guy while he is down.
then it is an observable phenomenon
take an internet personality, add a scandal and suddenly that Internet personality was NEVER good to begin with

Praise be to the absolute QueenJosh's idea that, ultimately, every writer has a different idea of Sonic is, well, not wrong. I appreciate any writer who attempts to do their own thing with him, even if we know the folks at home will dislike it because "it's not their Sonic".
Oh well. Thanks for the memories Maekawa.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. The last words of Jason's Sonic YIKES! NO! AMY, WAIT! PUT DOWN THAT HAMMER!
Last words of Lisa's Amy
SONIC!!!!
____
Really Merlina should be more aware that the story has gone completely off the rails
like she cites Mordred's betrayal of Arthur.... the issue being There is no Arthur for Mordred to betray
like Amy's not Gwyn in this story

Praise be to the absolute QueenQuite the contrast.
Josh talks of how versatile Sonic as a series is that everyone has their own vision of him.
Pariah, however, states that Black Knight is the point the series jumps the shark and the series having no clear direction was their direction at the time.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Which is funny if you've seen their prior videos.
Geek Critique looks at the games through the lens of an adult who grew up with the series since its formative years and generally uses meta commentary to contexutalize his own feelings.
Pariah just looks at the games for what they are and doesn't really care about the meta context surrounding them.
Geek didn't really care about Secret Ring's story or the whole angle of tackling an Abusive relationship in it, or he just didn't notice it, while Pariah did and detailed how meaningful that is for a series like Sonic to tackle.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Here's a bit a fun fact about Black Knight. When Maekawa wrote the script he intended Caliburn to have a woman's voice, but the director changed Caliburn's gender and picked out a man's voice without Maekawa's involvement.
There's one interaction in the game that particularly takes on a different meaning knowing that. Earlier, Caliburn gets annoyed with Sonic when Sonic starts acting familiar with Nimue. Later when Sonic saves Percival, Caliburn tells Sonic to save the flirting for later, and Sonic responds my telling Caliburn to not to get so jealous and jokes that holy swords are popular (dating-wise) too. With Caliburn as a guy, it sounds like Sonic is calling him jealous of Sonic for being popular with girls, but with Caliburn as a woman, it's actually Sonic telling Caliburn to to not get so jealous of the other girls for getting Sonic's attention. Caliburn's interactions with Sonic through the game end up coming off like she's an older tsundere for Sonic.
Pariah likes the story, but he doesn't feel the game's theme was handled well - and it doesn't help the talking rodent fancy words doesn't take away Pariah's natural fear of death.
Shout out to Final Fantasy IX from my part, as it has that theme as part of its whole narrative.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.I doubt it would've really mattered who said Sonic's words...that's whatever.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Its funny how the part Pariah likes over the death talk stuff is Sonic showing everyone the proper way to live their lives as a true knight...which is something a lot of people I've spoken to hate about late mid 2000's Sonic as he was a Mary stu.
Also Shout outs to Persona 3, knew Pariah was a real one.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The issue is Merlina's neverending story is never given context of what it means... but if we take their conversation about the Flower as the metaphor for their stances.
Merlina has come to the conclusion its better for the Flower to never bloom in the first place since its only Blooms to wither and die
Sonic retorts that a flower that never blooms never shares its beauty with the world
so Merlina's never ending Camelot is either a Groundhog Loop or Perpetual Stasis neither sounds good for the person stuck in it plus the whole overflowing with minions from the underworld thing!
then again they don't go too deep into it cause they don't want you to see Merlina as a villain but a scared girl lashing out at what she perceives is her mortality.
I mean the funny thing is... Does the story end when you read The End? or does the Story continue waiting for others to write it down?
Then there is the big elephant in the room... Merlina's own existence cause she quotes several aspects of various versions of Arthurian lore "Mordred's betrayal, The animosity between Lancelot and Gawain etc etc
but never points out that Merlin never had a granddaughter... hell Merlin outlasts Camelot.
Lancelot was a French Addition!
Praise be to the absolute QueenI mean they could have gone full hard core meta
I mean the entire story is based on a concept of Arthur NEVER showed up... so Merlin used the Scabbard to create a Fake Arthur 'Hence why the Scabbard has become corrupt... No one ever pulled the sword from the stone and Merlin used himself as the balancing device... but the corruption eventually killed the Nigh Immortal Merlin and thus "Arthur" turned into a Despot
Merlina whose apparently aware of how the story is suppose to go... never questions what the fuck is going. though you could argue it has the rebuttal to her own stance in it hence why she never thinks about it.
The flower found a way to bloom regardless of the circumstance
Praise be to the absolute Queen

Geek Critique went over Black Knight, and I'm pretty sure with the exception of Adventure 2 it's his only Sonic review to go over an hour. Whether that's a good or bad omen, I'll leave that up to you.
