Jesus Christ, Sticks......Not really wrong at that point in the franchise, but still.

And now, you've got me imagining Sonic and Sticks re-enacting the memetic scene from Pulp Fiction where Jules and Brett discuss what Marsellus Wallace looks like.

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's DictionaryFrom what I've seen, the Japanese scripts for the Boom games are massively rewritten from the English scripts. For instance, in this particular scene Tails meets with Sticks to tell her Amy's been kidnapped. In the English version Sticks interrupts Tails by going on a tangent about evil ladybugs trying to take over the world, and when told what happened decides it's great news because "snakes make better boots than ladybugs and Amy will love them". In the Japanese version Sticks misunderstands Tails' opening line as him about to confess to her so she interrupts him to go off about she's not interested in a soft nerd like him and calls him a ladybug. When Tails reacts in confusion she goes "I'm saying you're an herbivore male!". When Tails finally tells her Amy's been kidnapped, Sticks decides that's good news because she'll have a change to impress Amy and show she's faster than Sonic.
It might have hit me some because it roused up memories of that meme video with Sonic and Shadow. The conversion basically does go, paraphrased:
"Sticks, I have to tell you something..."
"Look, I'm not interested, especially not in a kid like you."
"What?"
"Hey I'm just not into nerds who play with machines all day, you ladybug!"
"Sticks, what the fuck are talking about?"
"You're a beta male, Tails!"
That's very obscure...
What even is "Zed", of the Zed Monkeys?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Ah, Banger.
Yeah its regular attack is unparryable, but its self-destruct attack IS parryable.
(You can only get rewards for defeating it if you instead cyloop it, no clue why you're not rewarded for a successful counter).

Technically Sonic is parrying the robot itself away before it explodes, but considering it otherwise explodes on impact you're basically parrying the explosion lol.

Well, isn't this a coincidence? Literally the day after Geek Critique goes over Secret Rings Pariah does too. I don't know whether I should be impressed or genuinely upset because it just makes me flashback to my experience playing. I literally got every Fire Soul to unlock all the Party Mode characters as well as at least a silver rank on all missions to unlock skills and I still absolutely hated it. Regardless, here it is:

No rain could douse the flames that burn within me!A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
My memories of Secret Rings was that the game was fun once you get the best upgrades, and even then it was confusing to know what the good upgrades were.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.

Free Riders might've had a chance if they bothered to port it over to the Wii, instead of leaving it to dry on a console peripheral that was pricey and wasn't built-in even on the next system. It's one of the few that is hard to port over as is. Especially more now.
Good game concept, poorly executed. Thankfully the other two are much more accessible. It's one of the few Sonic games I never bought in general due to that idea. Now if the Xbox One had a built-in Kinect, I'd at least get it. I only have one Sonic game I can't play, and that's a very cheaply gotten Sonic Jam. I don't tend to make exceptions. ...Though I guess if I see it for like 3 dollars, I'll make another one. I own lots of games more for owning it, sooooo.
Shadow?
