What I mean is that I don't want every game going forward to be more Ancients stuff. Keep branching out and doing more and more diverse stuff, instead of continuing to use ancient aliens to explain everything in the setting.
That's what Kirby lore does. Every game, it seems like the lore goes back further to a previous stage in the timeline of the Ancients' history.
I like how Kirby lore brings back previously oneshot characters and concepts, like the Amazing Mirror being responsible for Queen Sectonia's villainy. If Sonic lore is going to renew its focus on being cohesive, I can see something similar happening with one-and-done concepts.
(I just want Sonic Shuffle 2...)

The Protomen enhanced my life. The only one & done concept that the series could even possibly revisit is the Gaia temples from Unleashed...
They cannot do anything with Dark Gaia or Chip for obvious story reasons.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.TIL there are lines
of Sonic succumbing to the cyber corruption and beginning to lose his memories that you can only hear if you're idle or don't progress for a long time.
I think it's due to how the cards worked in multiplayer, where they could only be seen on your controller's VMU.
But I only played singleplayer so I wouldn't know. (Mario Parties were spent alone.)

The Protomen enhanced my life.It hasn't come back because it was made by the people who made Mario Party...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I find it hilarious that both Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and Sonic Frontiers have similar themes of families born of love and fighting a cosmic-level Eldritch Abomination.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I just never wanna see Green Hill Zone, Chemical Plant or Sky Sanctuary ever again. They're done for me. Every single scrap of nostalgia I could have for them is gone.
I kinda miss the Dark Age where Sonic took itself too seriously and tried really out there, ambitious shit with each game.

Kaze ni Nare!I love how people group Sky Sanctuary in with the other 2 overused levels...even though it was only in one other game before this.
Though, with the amount of cyber space levels that use its theme...I'm sure that did more than enough to wear on people.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It's kind of the only iconography Sonic Team really knows at this point.
Original level themes have been quite infrequent,
at least Mania reuses levels that don't really get any attention.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. You know, random thought I had about Chaos: Froggy had a tail in Adventure 1 because he ate Chaos's tail, right? But Chaos 4, the first non-humanoid form, had a perfectly functional tail, jumped to chaos 6 when he got his tail back, and Perfect Chaos barely had a body at all.
Was it just an excuse to make Froggy look weird and force Big to participate in the story?
I was thinking about Shuffle recently, and on how rare it is that Sonic goes up against magic.
Like, he's fought gods, but most most of those have been big kaijus with elemental powers and so on. It's pretty rare that he's - like - gone up against witches or warlocks or fairies or magic spells and what have you. It's basically just Shuffle and the Storybook games - but we do know that magic is potentially a thing in the Sonic setting, it's just rarely something the games explore.
It might be an interesting new thing to look into in future games.
Another random thought: between Frontiers and the Twitter Takeover, it might be safe to say that Modern! Amy personality wise is now effectively Boom! Amy, but still a Love Freak and without the barely-ever-mentioned archeology thing.
I was hoping they would take that version of the character as an inspiration, so cool I guess.

I wonder if the devotion Amy has in the community is like other concepts in this series: a love for a supposed potential other the actual material.
I'm sure she has her fans even in the entries very few like, but still. I saw Precure and more or less get what character they want Amy to be, but Sonic X doesnt really give me that.
I'm not sure if Frontiers personality should be the default.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.

Also, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has borrowed a lot from the Dragonball franchise, especially with Sonic going Super.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!
