Are we not doing spoiler tags anymore?
I mean, true, but some people probably would have preferred to be surprised by the little things in the game itself. Granted, as far as I can tell, I managed to pass the triggers for both lines of dialogue...

My musician pageI mean those two aren't tied by a leg. They're not Chaotix. Besides, it could be just a start and Whisper could drop later. I suppose appeal of Tangle is that she doesn't bring too much backstory with her? I mean, if Tangle is bringing entire IDW into continuity, then Whisper is here. But if she isn't then Whisper, Jewel, Restoration are all optional. Meanwhile bringing Whisper would likely require canonizing her entire team.
We probably haven't seen the last of Sage, especially given the hidden ending, but do you think we've seen the last of The End?
The Protomen enhanced my life.I really don't know. The ending suggests the ancient evil was destroyed once and for all, but the voice boasted it was mightier than all of Sonic's previous foes. And it's not really a joke, even if the boss fight doesn't deliver the story. Maybe it's gone for good.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. Most of the issues I have with the story are about The End. I feel like its sheer scope and the extreme Inferred Holocaust surrounding its existence cast a darker lens on the entire Sonic series up to the point, especially since It Can Think and gives a whole monologue about itself. But combined with it being an Anti-Climax Boss in its 'true' form, it makes for a very weird experience that's less 'relief and joy it was stopped' and more 'wait, that's it?', especially since the final blow was delivered in a cutscene.
I know I'm thinking too much about a series about a blue hedgehog that runs fast but when the story invites these questions it's hard not to think about it. (For me personally the truly unstoppable Sonic enemy is the Death Egg Robot from Sonic 2....I still can't beat that thing.)

The Protomen enhanced my life.Gameplay and Story Segregation is a wonderful thing.
Can I just say the past few years have been a rather nice improvement from the dark ages. We have a pretty good comic ongoing, a successful and pretty faithful film series, a new up coming live action and animated show. And the latest game has been decently well received.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
I agree. Though I think some are still fearing the other shoe will drop. Admittedly, it's still earlier in this new push, and there's a chance things will go wrong. We've all spent so much time (and perhaps taken a bit too much joy in) mocking Sonic, that the realization that the series is enjoyable again (unless you were already fine with everything from the so called dark ages) might take a while to sink in.
Edit: Also, in light of Sage's status as Eggman's daughter in this game, I wonder how they'll incorporate her into the IDW comics....and what her relationship with Belle The Tinkerer (Eggman's other daughter....kinda) will be?

One Strip! One Strip! The End is absolutely a darker Sonic villain then most, but I still think he fits in the series quite well. This is the same series that has Mephiles after all (and IMO Mephiles was actually a good villain despite the game being bad). So I don't think him casting a darker lens on the Sonic franchise is a real problem.

I don't think Mephiles is considered a good villain.
Most everyone questions why his plot was so complicated in the first place. He travels into the future but chooses to trick Silver into going back with him to kill Sonic rather than merging with Ibilis right then and there, and it's never explained why.
I will say that I'm not sure why people feel the End is such a huge thing. Even if it's been retconned from the timeline, he still fought a Time god not too long ago. Are we saying we think The End tops Solaris?
Edit: Fixed for spoilers. My bad. I should know better.

You should probably spoil any mention of The End tbh.
In any case, I always assumed Mephiles' plan was overtly complicated because he was a sadist who loved manipulating people and craved destruction. He's doing the more sadistic method because he finds it more entertaining.
But anyway, I really don't want to get into an argument about Sonic 06 right now. That wasn't the purpose of my original comment.
I personally think The End is weaker then Solaris by scaling, but Solaris doesn't exist due to the Cosmic Retcon.

In the boss monologue it says it accessed Sonic's memory while he was in cyberspace and learned of his defeats of machines and gods, all of which were mighty but finite.
For me it's less about what it's capable of doing as much as what it's already done in the backstory. Chasing the original users of the Chaos Emeralds to Earth after destroying their homeworld and indirectly laying the foundations for all future games, Chaos, and the Chao is one thing but all the worlds it successfully wiped out before getting to that point paints a pretty bleak picture for life outside Sonic's world. I even saw a theory that The End corrupted Pachamac and his tribe into collecting the Emeralds for it.

The Protomen enhanced my life. Now I'm picturing The End arriving on Sonic's world when Dark Gaia was awake or the Black Arms were invading. Lots of would-be world destroyers out there XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.I wanna see the End defeating Infinite, at least. The bastard has the audacity to call Sonic's previous enemies "Finite" and proclaim themselves as Infinite. Funniest unintentional dialogue in the game.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.

I mean I liked Sticks so it'd be fun to see her again.
It'd feel weird to get Tangle in a mainline game without Whisper tho.
EDIT: effing pagetopper. Talking about the namedrops in Frontiers.
