Yeah. That bugs not good. Sonic cannot afford to do stuff like that. They'd best get to work sending some patches to fix that.
One Strip! One Strip!I would hope so. It's a very easy bug to run into. "I used the fast travel system and lost my save" is one of those things that would get discovered en masse quickly. And I can immediately imagine what's going on and why it happened note .
This is a very fun game, imo. The most fun I've had playing a single player game in a while. And there's nothing worse than playing a very fun game and finding out there's an amateur hour gamebreaker in it like that, because then you have to measure the fun you're having to instead look over your shoulder for future issues.

That's why I expressed some disappointment with this game despite the enjoyment I was having.
A soft lock like just isn't excusable in this day and age. Its like that in Cyberspace levels too.
It just baffles me how they let something like that get through.
Stuff like that is a deal-breaker for less tolerant people.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The only thing the higher difficulty affects in terms of story/gameplay as far as I know is a True Final Boss segment that's a space shooter while the villain monologues, which also leads to a scene after the credits, though 100% completion may be required for the latter (I'm unclear on that).
The Protomen enhanced my life.Bringing up an idea I had for a future game once more.
If they stay with the open zone gameplay style, I wouldn't mind seeing an open zone game set on South Island. Sure we have Green Hill zone again... but South Island is also home to Bridge Zone, Jungle zone, and is also the setting of 8-Bit Sonic 2, Sonic Chaos, and Sonic Blast. So along with the possibility of adding new zones to South Island, they could give the spotlight to lesser known zones. Also I think it'd be fun to see how they could connect each zone together.
- Yellow Desert is in a secluded area that's accessible through a hidden tunnel in either Green Hill or Underground Zone
- Marble Zone being between Jungle Zone and Under Ground Zone or within the former.
- Red Volcano being within Under Ground zone
- Some exits in Labyrinth Zone and Bridge Zone leading to Sky High Zone
- Green Hills being the outskirts of Green Hill
- A highway area connecting Star Light and Gigalopolis
- Green Hill being changed to have a town in it.
Maybe the equivalent of Cyberspace stages could be set in/based off the special stages of the classic games.
I would be fine if they did something wholly original though.
Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The GameIt's interesting that several games have had hub areas, but the only time they've ever done the "it's a familiar place / level, but imagined as a hub area" thing is with Angel Island in SA 1.
Judging by a lot of what I've seen so far, Frontiers looks like a solid example of Enjoy the Story, Skip the Game And Maybe Turn The Sound Off During Cutscenes Too. I haven't played the game yet and I probably will anyway, but those negative reviews are starting to look a lot more accurate than the 7-8/10s.
Accentuating the Negative much?
"Cynicism is not realistic and tough. It's unrealistic and kind of cowardly because it means you don't have to try."It spent 5 years in development, but it looks like it has the questionable controls and physics that have plagued 3D Sonic games for years. The world aesthetic is uninspired. The core gameplay loop looks OK but unremarkable. The graphical pop-in and soft locks shouldn't even be a thing in 2022. From a technical standpoint, it looks mediocre at best.
But the characterization looks like some good old-fashioned Ian Flynn material without the Arc Fatigue, which is a far sight better than anything in the past decade at least.
I might change my mind when I actually play it, but it had better be a lot better than it looks.

Honestly I feel like this game so far has good foundations.
Like if it's true Sonic Team sees this as the start of a new series of Sonic Games, I can see some improvement.
But yeah, Sonic controls janky in this game. I was just boosting in volcano island and if I run over certain rocks the physics somehow launches me into the air.
And in Cyberspace, Sonic feels heavy during the more tricky platforming. Not like say Classic Sonic in Forces but def janky.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"So I've already beaten the game.
I'd say the majority of the game is actually pretty good, but I'd say there's 4 things I distinctly dislike (all spoiler tagged, but only the last paragraph is a story spoiler):
1. Cyberspace. The concept was DOA and the execution has lead to some of the least engaging stages in the franchise, and you have to be extra finnicky with the boost. The only saving grace is that every stage is incredibly easy, with only a few giving issues in S ranking.
2. The starfall slot machine thing. Sounds pretty minor, but the UI of the slot machine takes up a big portion of the screen right where you'd naturally look at things, and it's there even when the camera is fixed, which has caused me to be unable to see what I'm doing at least once.
3. The Elder Koko. The upgrades themselves are fine, but having to do them one at a time is incredibly dull and tedious, and if you're getting the platinum trophy you have to pick your upgrade 198 times.
4. Sage & Eggman. Eggman genuinely gets nothing to do in this game, to the extent that you could remove him from the story and literally nothing would change, except for the father-daughter dynamic between the two of them, which itself is incredibly underdeveloped. While Sage at least gets some nice character interactions with Sonic and friends (which in general is this game's strong suit alongside world building), she also spends quite a few cutscenes talking to herself about the most basic observations she has, and it's honestly just annoying.

Kind of sounds like making excuses for people who do like the game. I don't doubt the problems it does have are real, but seems weird to dismiss the positive opinions as hype.
Especially in the case of reviews. Who won't get a second chance to give their opinion, at least, not in a way that really effects it.

I kinda liked the Chaos Emeralds being mysterious and not knowing where they came from better than having an explanation, but there's still mysteries to solve, like the Super Emeralds.
I'm curious of how much of the story and lore was already planned before Ian did the script.

Its not weird at all and I'm not dismissing anything.
Any long anticipated game is going to have people excited to play it and sing its praises until we get time to evaluate it.
Its not an indictment, its a fact.
In related news, apparently the Japanese translation is fucked lol

"If I had to guess at the reason, they probably built the game around the English version of the script, and did some rewrites on the JP version without considering how implementing the rewritten script would look in practice when the game had been rigged for the EN version."
Whoops.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I hear they threw the original script out the window and rewrote using google translate
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverI know it wouldn't make sense or match the story's themes but when Sage said even Super Sonic couldn't stop the End I was so ready for the return of Hyper Sonic.
For a Top God Greater-Scope Villain it kinda went down easy. XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.RE: Sage being voiced by Rei Ayanami in both English and Japanese:
It might be a trite thing to be hyped about but...hell to the yeah.
Haven't had the chance to so much as see gameplay, but the curiosity cat scratched me last night, so I took a peek at the game's page and...
(*sees via the page that the game name-drops Tangle and Sticks*)

...Uh, Ian? Buddy? That's not a sign of anything major, yeah? Like, those bits are just for kicks, right Ian? Buddy?
I'm trying really hard not to think too much about it, but a Modern Sonic game acknowledging Tangle and Sticks was something I thought would be in the "never-ever-gonna-happen" pile.
There's some other trope entries that got my red flags raised, but I won't get into too much detail there because spoilers for me and everyone else here. But IYKYK.
