It's nice to see them actually talk to eachother for once...
Can you believe this hasn't happened for like 18 years.

You can talk to Amy in 360/PS3 Unleashed, and if you consider Nimue just an alternate world Amy her and Sonic had pleasant, normal conversations.
I think part of the issue in this game is that Amy's VO work just sucks, and Sonic's isn't a whole lot better (I've gotten through more of the game, Knuckles is alright imo and Tails after the opening cutscene is fine too. Sage is fine as well). Whoever was directing the voice acting in this game really shouldn't return, it's a real downgrade from past titles.

Oissu!Yeah, I don't consider a one-way dialogue box to be..."characters talking to eachother."
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Just started playing. Two s chaos emeralds and four cyberspace levels down, plus a good chunk of the Amy stuff.
So far, my only real complaint is that Sonic feels a bit... stiff? He has a lot of recovery frames for most actions - the period between "Sonic does a thing" and "you can move Sonic again" can sometimes be much longer than you're expecting depending on the action you were just taking.
It's really noticeable in combos, but also in the cyberspace levels, because while most of them have decent time trials some of them have super strict ones, and the strict ones require you to get the absolute most out of Sonic's motion. Nothing worse that not being able to move in the goal right in front of you because Sonic is still stuck in his "launched from a spring" animation or his "boosted in midair" motion.
Beyond that, there's also the usual open world game problem of the player character being fiddly with environment geometry, but that's like a genre-wide gripe of mine that I've only ever really seen Breath of the Wild actually handle well.
Otherwise, I"m loving it (cue McDonalds Jingle).
So far I wouldn't call Sonic's acting bad, per se. Just... really weird. Really, really weird.
Like, he's doing all the inflections and stuff well, but it also sounds RCS is trying to do both Sonic's voice and a deeper voice at the same time. In game it sounds like Sonic is doing that thing where a person pretends to have a deeper voice than they do.
Maybe Sonic's trying to disguise his voice so the FBI don't recognize him.

Speaking of boring, as weird as it sounds I feel like cutscenes back in the day were better? Like in Adventure or Riders? Now it feels like almost every cutscene in Generations, Forces, Colors, Lost World or Frontiers are just two characters standing around in the empty field, occasionally gesticulating. It just feels stilted. If I had to see Knuckles bump his fists together for emphasis one more time...
I think Sonic game cutscenes tend to be less dynamic since most of the action takes place in the levels or against bosses? It might also depend on the limitations of the game engine versus FMV-style cutscenes—06's cutscenes were dynamic when animated but the game engine ones looked wonky most of the time.
It might also be that darn camera at work :P

The Protomen enhanced my life.Knuckles has never done that before...

That's not weird, they were better...typically because more stuff was actually happening.
The characters were also relatively more expression in both face and movement when the models were worse.

However this did all start with Sonic Heroes...each cutscene is pretty much just the characters talking while walking around the start of each level.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The mix of CG cutscenes with in-game cutscenes did also help somewhat with that dynamic feeling...

Give her a 2D platformer with Mega Man Zero style gameplay and you have yourself a real banger.

Do you think we'll see Sage in any future games?
EDIT: Awww, I just realized Orbot and Cubot have a sister <3

The Protomen enhanced my life. You're right about the standing around. Sonic and Amy's movement when Amy tries to break him out of prison in SA 2 is way better.
Sage mentioned something about a father.
And the only character she talks to besides Sonic, is....Eggman.
Oh my god, she's a canon version of Omelette. Calling it now.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"She talks to Tails and Amy...presumably Knuckles as well.
All 3 of them could be the father.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. If it were a choice between Sage and Omelette I'd go with Omelette but that's just me.
Also, to anyone wanting to know the secret ending, I read that there's a trick where you can change the difficulty to Hard before the final boss fight to access it upon completion. You'll know you've got it when it's a Bullet Hell phase instead of a Quick Time Event.

The Protomen enhanced my life.

Well, I don't find Amy and Sonic's interactions boring. Agree to disagree, I guess.
