Still mad about that, lol. I'm like one of the three die-hard fans of the All Stars Racing series still in existence.
That'd be dope. Sonic certainly has enough characters to support a party system. As long as they don't get sued by an idiot this time, an RPG would be really fun.
I see your dating sim and raise you one anti-dating sim. The objective is to not end up dating Amy. End up in a committed relationship, and you lose.
There's footage of what would've been Sonic themed Pro Skater, but I don't recall if that was prior to SA 2's release or not.
EDIT: Post SA 2, Shadow was featured as well as Sonic. Funnily enough, it was titled Sonic the Hedgehog Extreme, not to be mistaken for the same Extreme that died from development hell back in the mid 90's.

If it was shortly after SA 2 I'd say base it on the street boarding segments from that game, or hell, you still can by pandering to nostalgia.
Sonic's got crazy worlds, can make lots of unique tracks to snowboard down without snow.
I never got to play any of the Sonic Riders games, growing up. Imagine my surprise to find out that there's an actual competitive scene based around the first two entries.
I barely have enough time to invest into Street Fighter. Otherwise I'd pick up Riders, All-Stars and Mario Kart for that racing itch.
Has anyone tried the Sonic Battle R racing sim? I think SEGA would've been onto something if they emphasized racing between different cast members in Sonic multiplayer games.(not in vehicles, I mean)

Bit of a story with that. It was a prototype made by a company called Vision Scape, an American team that did 3D graphics work for other companies and made a few budget games. They assisted Sonic Team in making the CGI movies in Sonic Heroes. During that time they made the prototype for Sonic Extreme using the engine for a previous skateboarding game they made and presented it to Yuji Naka, who liked the idea and said he would push for it if Vision Scape submitted a design document and estimated budget to Sega. After they had submitted their work on Heroes' CGI cutscenes Sega completely ghosted them, effectively ending the project.
Then a couple years later Sonic Team put out Sonic Riders, which also a game about Sonic character riding hoverboards. So it seems while Naka liked the idea, him or some other decision maker at Sega didn't want to work with another company and ghosted them while having Sonic Team make their own take on the idea.
Sonic Riders is an odd duck. The first game is pretty good, but a lot of the unlockables are too time consuming to get to be worth the pay off.
The second game I really like the aesthetic and the idea of the gravity mechanics, but the game plays (or at least feels like it plays) quite a bit slower then the first one, and in practice the gravity mechanics are flawed. They really wanted to push Gravity Control, so you can't just drift normally anymore, and turning at all is discouraged. They should've focused more on emphasizing GC's utility for alternate paths through courses. And regular boosting is replaced by Gravity Dive, which would be okay, but there's really only one, sometimes two, spots on any course built for it. The Air Mechanic in the first game is completely gone, but I think that makes the game worse; The player had to strategize their movement techniques to ration their air until the next opportunity to refill some.
And the third game is an Xbox Kinect exclusive game, and not a good one. Gameplay videos I have seen, I actually like a lot of how the game looks to play from the videos of people who have actually gotten the Kinect to cooperate, but then the problem is that the game also seems pretty shallow on content.

I'm trying to remember when the Sonic comics or the latest games has Sonic breaking up the fourth wall to point out a flaw in the story.
Only Colors with Sonic talking to the camera briefly.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Well, not just times where Sonic breaks the fourth wall, but anytime the game makes a meta-joke on the series. Which I still don't think is THAT often, but happens from time to time Generations had a lot of them, but it was an anniversary Milestone Celebration. That kind of thing comes with the territory.
Well, I think in Sonic's case its less of an issue of overusing lampshading, and more an unwillingness to commit to drama in the first place. The "Eggman's been holding Sonic prisoner, and even torturing him!" bit from Forces is a more infamous example.

If it makes you feel any better it spawned a plethora of fanfics. Most went with the Stepford Smiler route.
The Protomen enhanced my life.As for lampshading specifically, Colors did have quite a bit of it. I rather liked it - it fit the tone of the game a lot better than some of the later games. My favorite is "experience has taught me to investigate everything that glows."
For as much as it's dialogue was... hit or miss, let's just say, Lost World had another one I liked, where Sonic complains that Eggman has a billion weapons factories, and Eggman explains he has so many because Sonic keeps destroying them.
We should have more scenes where Sonic and Eggman have to interact in a non-threatening context in general, I think. They make an interesting dynamic.

Here here. Everyone knows showing emotional vulnerability is something only immature children do who haven't learned how to keep their emotions hidden; by getting emotionally invested in these corporate made products you have surrendered yourself to the corporate wheel. Worse still, getting emotionally invested in products that are manufactured for children, and thus you have revealed yourself as a stunted individual who never mentally grew past their formative years.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I want Sonic's Werehog form to be in the game, and I want him to play EXACTLY like Luffy from the Pirate Warriors games.

Sonic (even more) Heroes!
....I'm probably going to be bricked again.
