We can assume some people were killed in his initial assault on Soleanna before that retconned out.
One Strip! One Strip!Cosmic Retcon more specifically. Since it was a single game story. The game is canon, and the events clearly still exist, just that only the Time Eater was able to restore them. It's a bit weird.
However, that's still Fridge Horror.
Ah, thanks on the Gemerl info.
Shadow?Man, Cream and Vanilla are so weird. There's a bunch of random stuff like that associated with them, but since they're characters the game hasn't been interested in exploring for over a decade all that stuff's just... trivia.
"Oh yeah, Gemeral. Reincarnation of that ancient war machine turned friend turned enemy we met once. He lives with that cute kid down the block."

Actually, yeah, why did he kidnap them anyway? Like if he was doing 'animals in robots' at the time then yes, sure, he'd kidnap them to power robots, but he didn't; they were random hostages Eggman took with no relationship to Sonic at all.
Maybe he just grabbed them because they were nearby when Sonic showed up?
Even if he knew Emerl's memories of Cream(which isn't impossible), that doesn't explain the motive itself.
It's kind of weird. Like, the first time, he is using a quick hostage and all to get what he wants. Beyond that? Though it doesn't explain Tails either(from what I understand from what was said earlier is that only Cream and Vanilla were kidnapped at the same time).
Shadow?I'm pretty sure he used Tails to power one of the boss fights in the game, I forget which one.
As for Eggman not killing, well, that's obvious. He was stopped before he could, and they don't give Nobel prizes for attempted chemistry. If you said Eggman totally killed people offscreen, sure, why not, but we haven't seen him be successful.
Oh yeah, this no killing thing. TBH I'm kinda skeptical on the claim being made, I wouldn't be surprised if Flynn misunderstood. Didn't he latch onto the no money thing to despite the person who originally said that saying that it was only ever about depicting certain characters with money and not actually a lore restriction?
Regardless, it's definitely incorrect. We've got...
- SA 2's moon blasting, which realistically would end the planet, so even in a high fortune scenario would still cause some level of death due to the oceans being changed.
- Emerl's death.
- S Adv.3's earth shattering
- 06's missile barrage into a populated area
- Unleashed's earth shattering
- Generations' time erasure thing (which is effectively murder let's be real)
- Lost World's literal life draining - yeah Eggman wanted to be conservative but the very concept of the machine is draining life out of things lmao.
- Forces's hostile takeover of the globe, including abrupt, widespread changes to water sources.
It's frankly far too consistent to really have any basis.
And I'm pretty sure they have official translators. Not that miscommunication can't happen, but it just seems unlikely.

Because this is still a children's series at the end of the day with a corporate mascot; Eggman being a murderer would drastically alter the tone of the franchise.
Its one of the main reasons I speculate that's why concepts like GUN have been exorcised from the series, a villainous group who have actually murdered people and why Shadow's personality has been streamlined to not allude to the tragic parts of his background, being a more generic Stock Shōnen Rival character.
Because Sonic Adventure 2, no matter how fondly remembered it is, is kind of infamous for how drastically the Cerberus Syndrome hit the franchise. Its simply too jarring of a shift to go from Eggman's brand of cartoon villainy, to a military who were willing to murder innocents, including children, to cover up their own mistakes.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Eggman has still committed the following acts:
- Trapping animals in robots (every game chronologically until Heroes; Lost World and Mania)
- Kidnapping (Sonic 2 8-bit, Sega Sonic, CD, Adventure, Advance 2, ‘06 repeatedly)
- Terrorism (Implied with Sonic 2, 3&K, 4, and Fighters, explicit in Adventure 2)
- Small brainwashing (everytime Knux was tricked)
- Attacking metropolitan areas (Adventure, ‘06)
- Breaking into a military base twice, then blowing it up (Adventure 2)
- Extortion (again, Adventure 2)
- Blowing up the Earth (Advance 3 and Unleashed)
- Attempted mass brainwashing (Colors)
- Erasing history (Generations)
- Becoming a Tyrant (Forces)

Some of those are more fridge horror than confirmed deaths. If a technical death(frozen in place) is stopped, then they didn't actually die anyway.
I think the issue with the statement is that it isn't counting villains who are aliens or eldritch abominations, essentially, and it isn't relying on fridge horror either way.
...What happened to Gemerl later? I know he died as Emerl in Sonic Battle, but got resurrected later. And Emerl's death was directly caused by Eggman(and actually properly onscreen this time, no fridge horror stuff. Straight story bits). I don't remember the ending of Sonic Advance 3(I never beat it, so).
Shadow?
