Kinda odd to do this now considering their ages were established for years. Guess they wanted to take from the Mario cast which funnily enough Miyamoto said that Mario’s in his mid 20’s

Dang, the mustache really makes the Bros look older.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonAnd according to the Writer's bible for the Mario 3 cartoon,
apparently Peach/Toadstool was a teenager.
But as to ages in Sonic stuff, I remember when Charmy appeared in the comics, he was written as a kid, because his bio said that he was something like 8. Then, later, his age was changed to something like 13, which left questions as to why he acted like a little kid. This may be a reason for why they are no longer giving out ages. That and the fact that Sonic can't be 16 forever.

Also just before that, Eggman killed all of Charmy's family and genocided his kingdom. And there was an earlier story by Penders where Charmy's childhood friend died of a drug overdose. And then later after the brain damage incident, Charmy's girlfriend (the only other survivor of the genocide) got thrown into another dimension along with all the echidnas because the lawsuit happened and she was a Penders character.
It's like the comic writer looked at Charmy and thought "fuck this kid in particular."
Charmy just can't catch a break. In Sonic the Comic, the rest of the Chaotic find Charmy so annoying that they actively wish for his death multiple times. But Charmy still thinks we'll of them and mistakenly believes that they only pretend to hate him, which was so depressing that Sonic didn't have the heart to tell him the truth.

x3 Interestingly enough, in Japanese manual of Knuckle Chaotix, while ages of Espio, Mighty and Vector were given(17, 16 and 16 respectively), Charmy's age was not given, though manual also states that he's "very moody and mature in his words and actions", which does give implications that he acts older than his age... which was clearly changed from Heroes onward.

I assure you, I'm perfectly trustable person![]()
And like, what did Charmy do that warranted them hating him to death?
Like, outside of being a bit irritating, was he poor at his job?
Did he cause trouble that made him not worth keeping around?
Or were the other guys just assholes?
One Strip! One Strip! That was just Fleetway's thing, because Sonic was an abusive asshole to everyone, especially Tails. And not in Played for Laughs sort of way, he was genuinely terrible to Tails.
@Handsome Rob: Charmy was competent at defeating bad guys, but the Chaotic hated him for making up weird Ned Flanders-esque words and sometimes saying, "That sure didn't work!" when someone's plan fails.

Yikes.
That's just awful. You'd think being a useful teammate would outweigh a little annoyance.
The Fleetway guys may be heroes, but they are still assholes.
One Strip! One Strip!
I think this face perfectly encapsulates how Charmy would react if he met his counterparts from pre-SGW Archie and Sonic the Comic
Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The GameSo I was hanging with a friend, and we were browsing some videos on the 2000s Sonic games out of some nostalgia.
And then we ended getting a recommendation about a series called there's something about Amy.
I thought the animation was cute and looked like something from Newgrounds.
I did not expect it to escalate like that. At all.

I blame the shippers.
Anyway, the whole thing about Sonic Channel getting rid of the characters' ages? It might have turned into a rabbit hole of speculation.
When asked if he knew about Sonic Channel scrubbing out the ages in the characters, Ian Flynn just responded with #KnowingSmile.
Okay, is anyone else thinking something big is going to go down on Sonic Frontiers or is it just me?
