An rather unsuprising revelation by the Sonic Boom TV writers about Shadow
There is something deeply amusing about the mandates about him being so restrictive that the show ended up creating a parody that demonstrates how silly narrowly defined Shadow actually is. Flynn retweeting it is just the icing on the cake.
Does someone have a compilation of what these mandates are exactly? I find it weird that Sega had an issue with Shadow making jokes but were fine with turning him into a villain on Boom.
And since we're on the subject, Sonicsta did a ten-minute video about whether or not Shadow should have stayed dead after Adventure 2.
He sees the arguments for both options, but ultimately prefers Shadow alive.
I can see both arguments and frankly I'm not sure I would be able to come down on one side or the other.
Don't get me wrong, I love him, he's a cool dude, and his run up to 06 was... Not fantastic but alright, but at the same time his story could have ended in Adventure 2 and the franchise would've kept trucking.
(2) 1, I could hear him fine, 2, there are no other clips that I know of. 3, like
said, that's just early 2000's Sonic's games.
And 4, find one yo dang self.
You're right, those aren't good games.
Anyway yea, the Executive Meddling in regards to Shadow is beyond stupid and I have no idea what Sega hopes to accomplish. You would think they want more writers to utilize one of their more popular characters, but no...
And we have a scenario where a secondary character somehow has more restrictions in use than the literal main character lmao. This fucking company.
Gonna be real interesting to see how the movie reinterprets him given Sega has no creative control there.

With luck, they won't reinterpret him all that much. They'll simply capture the core of the character while making him fit their new universe, not unlike Knuckles.
One Strip! One Strip!Adventure 1 doesn't have bad sound mixing...
Not even the bad version.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yakuzu, it's gonna be an adaptation of Adventure 2. I doubt the movie staff needs to add anything to the original Shadow who was a villain. It's post-rebirth Shadow who gives everyone an issue.
This is the problem with zombies, smh
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Movie 2 was an adaptation of Sonic 2 and 3, and that didn't stop them from slightly reinterpreting Knuckles a bit. I'm serious, Movie!Knuckles is such a large improvement over his video game self while still keeping the core of the character intact unlike what they did with Sonic. And best of all, they justify his continued presence past his introduction story arc by making him part of Sonic's family circle.
The result is that I really wish Movie!Knuckles was his canon self now. That's how much of an improvement it was.
That's why I'm curious on what they're gonna do with Shadow and they'll give him a similar treatment.
