You never know man.
Maybe when the game comes out, you'll actually like it too.
I'm not saying you should get it if you don't want to, but keep an open mind.
Maybe we're walking into another disappointment, and maybe not, but we'll have to wait and see.
That's literally all we can do.
One Strip! One Strip!I like to think I'm a fairly open minded person. But like....what is so interesting about this game that hasn't been done better in other franchises? Its not like the concept of an open world game is new but people are treating it as if it's some ground breaking development for Sonic.
I'm not even saying I think it looks bad, just very unremarkable. But apparently my opinion doesn't mean shit lol.
So this is what Classic fans felt like during the 2000's....
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The game exists.
And in the end, isn't that the greatest achievement?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Frontiers is a game I'd say has elements that don't necessarily mega-excite me in and of themselves, but appear to be executed in such a way to make them worth experiencing.
Open world Sonic isn't inherently hype, but it does look reasonably fun to screw around in so the game could be enjoyable ala Mario SA 1 in that respect. It having a serious story is neutral news to me, but Flynn's writing at least means the cutscenes will be more consistently done than most 3D games in the last 23 years. Re-used stages isn't necessarily ideal, yet if they've got multiple paths like Generations I can dig them.
Without intending to sound like a backhanded compliment, it looks like a title I might be able to effectively maximize my enjoyment out of, regardless of whatever issues there could potentially be with the whole package.
I'll give my thoughts that I posted on another forum.
The cynical thought however is, everything we've seen is it....there's nothing else to this game than what we've already seen; we run, smash enemies for cores, do Cyberspace, Beat a boss, lather rinse repeat. And if that's the case...I mean, its not bad...but it's not terribly exciting either. And that's kind of the biggest worry for this game, not that its going to be mediocre or bad...that it's just gonna be boring. So unremarkable that its not even worth thinking about. So....we'll see. I'm trying to give this game a chance guys.
At the least the CG and voice acting might potentially be good, so here' hoping Flynn makes due on his promise for a more interesting narrative this time around. I think I can tolerate how boring the game could be if the story is good.

That's my secret, I haven't bought a Sonic game outside of Mania in forever :V
On the real, it's really not my intention to argue in bad faith. I'm pretty transparent when I'm being serious or just fucking around. So (shrug) I've been called a hater, or a shill for this series and everything in-between no matter what I say or how I say it, so I don't exactly care about how people feel about my words anymore as a result.
If you think I'm just here to stir shit, then you just ignore me and keep it moving. If someone is interested in what I have to say, I got no problem responding.
Don't really know what else to say.
