Heyoooooooo
I want to set the record straight that I really don't want to hate Sonic. I really don't like how I feel about the series nowadays. But I can't really help it, because the shit I liked and want about the series hasn't been acknowledged in so long and the creatives don't seem interested in acknowledging that.
So I'm just kind up a creek without a paddle. It doesn't help the recent games have still been mediocre while actively getting rid of the shit I like so I'm kind of.....tolerating things now.
Yes, I am coping and seething.
Silently.
Yea, Sega's marketing has been rather shit lately if I'm being honest and that's another criticism I'm seeing now.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Here's my take with the Sonic Central and IGN:
Now that we know it's an early build and there is more polish we haven't seen, people went way too overboard. I agree with some of the criticism with Frontiers, but with the information, it just seems like Frontiers needs a trailer that just gives people better idea on what the game is about.
I don't have Roblox but I have younger family members that'll do so I'm happy for the kiddies.
They used Sonic and the Black Knight music for the Speed Battle and Dash, really cool to have Sir Percival in.
I have little interest in Origins but the animations are solid as usual.
As for Frontier, I do like the mini-boss and loop. We are getting some very unique bosses and robot monsters, and it's interesting they're teasing Knuckles for something.
But the issue with this Central is what people accuse Forces' levels of: ending before they begin. Only thing, there is more, but too much build up can be a bad thing.
Prime's a weird case because introducing Shadow early is a good idea, to show that we don't have to wait for long. Think about the Boom series, it took until the 40s to have characters people wanted to see: Perci (43), Metal Sonic (44), Shadow (52), Vctor (2.44), D-Fekt (2.50) Shadow/Metal Sonic (2.52). Showing Shadow this early as a teaser is a good sign they're going to use Sonic's cast instead of waiting early.
Though given that Shadow was in the cast promo, assuming that Prime is dealing with the multiverse, maybe it would've been more hyped if Silver or Blaze were included over him to really get people excited because they've been in a full animated Sonic series yet.
That's my ultimate take. Y'all?
I always thought it was pronounced the way the characters said it.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I think that the reason why Sonic Frontiers has been getting a lot of backlash from the fans was because of how SEGA had marketed this game. They marketed this game pretty badly by showing half finished gameplay and not really telling the viewers what the story is all about. Like, there's still a lot we don't know about this game and it seems like SEGA refuses to give out the full details with this game. At this rate, this game might as well be delayed into 2023, so that they can give out better trailers for the game and to fix the damage control the first few trailers did for this game.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Yea, regardless of how the fanbase reacts, Sega have a done a pretty poor job at marketing this stuff.
Most the impressions I read is that people simply have no idea how to feel because so little has been shown or elaborated on.
Sure, people shouldn't make full judgments before the game is out but I feel like it's fair to criticize how Sega sells us this stuff regardless of the actual quality of it.

Yeah, I feel like if SEGA had just been upfront with the viewers that the gameplay they gave to IGN was an early build from the get go, we probably wouldn't have this much discourse surrounding the game. Like, I understand that when you are doing trailers, you're not supposed to reveal everything about the game because you don't want to spoil things for the gamers. However, it seems like SEGA is holding a lot back from this game and it's really affecting the marketing of this game. Heck, even the movie Sonic the Hedgehog 2 revealed a lot more in its trailers than Sonic Frontiers did.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!It's possible IGN knew but couldn't say due to an NDA. Well, barely possible, or was told not to say it yet. After seeing the backlash, they lifted that bit of the NDA for damage control.
Like, there's not much reason for IGN otherwise to not say it in the first place. NDA's are frankly extremely specific per product, after all.
Shadow? Its not even on IGN, its on Sega for thinking the footage they provided was adequate enough for the public. Like who looked at that footage and thought "yea, this definitely showcases our game in an interesting way"
Like, what is happening with this company?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Lately, folks have been theorizing that Infinite may return, because the robots resemble the Death Egg Robot from Forces, alongside those enemies materializing like illusions.
Any thought about him returning?
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Maybe's its because the localization isn't done or they don't think it will attract the biggest attention from the masses, but I'm surprised they haven't done a story trailer yet. Even just small clips of a more serious narrative (maybe with various other characters featured?) would go a long way for a lot of fans.
You know what, I’d be down with Alejandro Saab taking over the role. Kinda reminded of how when Roger Craig Smith briefly left the role of Sonic that Max Mittelman was a popular choice for a replacement.
Aside from that, were it not for Forces and/or Mania reusing Green Hill, I think that South Island would’ve been a fun choice for setting in an open world Sonic game.
I mean along with both versions of Sonic 1, South Island was the setting of Sonic Chaos, 8-Bit Sonic 2, and Sonic Blast, and considering their zones aren’t as well known as Green Hill, they’d likely be seen as new zones to casual audiences, especially since you’d be reimagining the likes of Jungle zone, Gigalopolis Zone, Yellow Desert Zone, and many lesser known levels in 3D. Plus there’s always the idea of adding new zones like a highway connecting Star Light Zone and Gigalopolis Zone for example.

Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The Game

Just my take, but given that marketing and the actual quality of a title a quite separate, criticizing the former if done badly is still entirely valid, regardless of how the latter turns out. I've seen a lot of various titles in the last few years trying to build hype via what they've released; enough to say that quite frankly Frontiers hasn't really blown me away yet, with only the IGN video today actually really suggesting something potentially interesting.
Showing off an early build might be transparent by the developers, but it is the kind of thing that's not entirely prudent in getting people excited en masse. I'm not saying they should have deceived fans in what the game was, simply that even what they've shown hasn't been packaged all that well in comparison to what a Nintendo does with their titles.
Edit: As far as Colors' good reception, I'd say its overall consistency was another big plus, especially to casual fans. Whatever highs it may not reach due to level design, it also very much avoids a lot of potential lows.
