Is it too on the nose to suggest he sends his defeated enemies to the Shadow Realm?

How so? Maria didn't get dealt with offscreen, nor did anyone say she was "annihilated."

Sorry, must have mixed up Maria with someone in my head, and now I can't remember who.

I'm pretty sure Gerald's log at the end of SA2 explicitly says that Maria "died", along with the entire research team onboard the ARK.

It probably would have been better if Infinite's team had appeared at all, in any form, previously. Hell, they could have made really cool bosses for Shadow if they decided to turn Shadow's DLC episode into a full-fledged story campaign.

According to the scrapped content, it appears that was the plan. Shadow would have fought them. Time ran out, so it couldn't be implemented.

A shame, but I don't particulary care about the Jackal Squad. Their designs are rather ugly and uninspired in my opinion, at least compared with faceless Infinite. Would they have helped the story of Forces?

Yes. I'm curious what exactly was Infinite's relationship with them: camaderie, or mere tools to be used and thrown away? Who knows.

It would be too weird for the boss of a mercenary squad to be the weakest.

I like to imagine that Infinite was the weakling of the group, and the others were just too nice to tell him. Like, all the others get their own boss battles against Shadow, but Infinite still gets punked effortlessly in a cut-scene.

It'd be funny though.

Infinite's real value to the team was in his tactical mind and brilliant plans. Shame he went crazy.

Currently playing Encore Mode in Mania.

Got all Emeralds by Press Garden Act 2....Special Stage 7 is hard.

EDIT: I have beaten Encore Mode. So now I've completed Mania.

The vanilla way of completing Mania is a Sonic & Tails playthrough, a Knuckles & Knuckles playthrough, and an encore playthrough.

The fully completed game involves beating it with all 5 characters, plus encore.

Here's a development that'll make you think "wait, what?!"

Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom is actually getting an update after I don't know how many years of being stagnant.

It's Vector!

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

Vector is the Wolverine of this franchise it seems.

Boy, you'd be brain damaged just to think that you could get away from Vector. The karma collector, and he's sworn to fight for you.

I have done a playthrough as each of the five characters, plus Encore Mode.

Vector is also the muscle.

Heroes had amazing character themes. Other than Team Sonic's which was just alright.

Does this mean that the show will actually get a third season like Dr. Eggman hinted at?

Don't know if anyone posted, but it's basically confirmed that there are no new Sonic games coming this year.

This makes sense for a number of reasons. We haven't gotten so much as a teaser yet so it would unrealistic to expect a new game to come as soon as this year. There's a chance that the new game may tie into Sonic Prime in some way and that's not coming until next year. Also, if Sega is smart they'll try to time the game somewhat around the release of the second movie.

I'm just glad they're taking their time on whatever they're working on. I know that doesn't guarantee it will be good but it's better than rushing something out for the anniversary just because.

I think I'm going to need a bit more than " a magazine didn't mention anything concrete about Sonic, so Sonic Team's not doing anything this year!"

Looking at the magazine in question, it looks like the reddit post is taking a single line in an ad (there's no Sonic upfront or upcoming business information in the magazine, just an article and an ad celebrating the anniversary - for reference) extremely seriously. It's certainly not a upfront.

Well even if there are no new games to be released this year, I’m sure they will have announcements or teasers for them for next year. There were trailers for Sonic Mania and Forces from 2016 which were released one year later.

I expect a teaser but I doubt we're getting anything this year. Maybe the Colors remaster.
