I was there when people saw an image of Sticks pre-reveal, and practically everyone thought it was the Boom version of Marine, and everyone was wondering why her of all people were going to be in Boom.

Last I checked, colors are a pretty key part in character design.

Did everyone just die from E3? Why aren't we talking about Olympics 2020? It's finally allowing online multiplayer.

The Olympic titles sell millions yet no one seems to actually talk about them.

I've always been cool with that series: it's basically Mario Party with Sonic characters, and an Olympics skin, and that's pretty rad. I don't buy too many of those big party games often, though (like, one Jackbox and one Mario Party per gen), but I like that the games exist.

The soundtracks of the Olympics series, on the other hand, are freaking fantastic and the things I look forward the most when those titles come out. They rival, and up until Ultimate outright beat out Smash Bros in "nostalgic arrangements" department.

I've always felt like the two companies should release a Mario / Sonic platformer to supplement it, though.

I mean, games selling more doesn't make them an interesting subject to talk about.

Wii sports is the second best selling game of all time, you don't see people talk about it.

The crossover olympics are good though, don't get me wrong.

I noticed that Cream is a background character in the Olympics game. 'So much for the "Sega put Cream on the bus" theory.

She's also in the IDW comic, and so are Vanilla and Gemerl.

Massive props to the comics for bringing back pretty much everyone.

The Archie comics had a lot of mandates over which characters could and couldn't be used. Cream was disallowed for a majority of the comic's run.

Was a reason ever given? Cream seems like a weird character to veto. She's a popular character, not a classic-era character, and she appears in many games. They allow Bark, Honey, and Fang but not Cream?

It's because she was in the Sonic X comic and they didn't want franchise mixing, according to this and this.

Cream feels like another element (like humans and G.U.N) from the Adventure Era that Sonic Team isn't terribly interested in having prominent any more, but doesn't want the backlash from outright getting rid of her, so she's just shunted to the background.
