I have to say I'm really impressed by the brief, but fun characterization managed in Overdrive for the likes of Big and the Chao, characters I'd previously been fairly indifferent to. I'd love to see this kind of approach with other figures from the Adventure era.

Something I've always had on my mind; since Shadow is The Ageless, doesn't that mean he should exist in Silver's era? Unless something kills him, of course. Omega, being a robot, would also still be alive unless something bad happens to him. Ironically the only timeline where they are shown to be alive in Silver's era is Sonic 06, where Shadow was eventually imprisoned(as Mephiles showed), and Omega who takes The Slow Path to rescue the present Shadow in the future. Which actually explains why Mephiles didn't just summon the emeralds to merge with Iblis in the future, beyond the possibility they've become incompatible-the emerald has been sent into the future so he couldn't get it until Omega returned

Eh I like the banther between sonic characters, honestly like it over the silent stuff.
Not like during levels in forces though since it didn't really characterize them and mission control speak is generally uninteresting.
But the stuff in free riders was the only thing I liked about that game.

A lot of Sonic banter is rather unremarkable and doesn't do much to flesh them out; you have exceptions without a doubt, but for the most part it's just fluff.
