Ashley Seaver worked because she was a newbie and was still "learning the ropes". When A.J. Cook and Paget Brewster came back, they could have maybe kept her as reoccurring.
Which to me is a contrast to Jennifer Love Hewitt's character. I mean, she's OK, it's just.... she seems to know way too much about her job, so many instances where they try to explain something to her, and her response is a variation of, "I already know that". Probably not the intention, but she comes off kinda snooty.
Also, isn't Hewitt kinda young to be playing a mother grumbling about teenagers and social media?
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!Technically she's an aunt, so she kinda got thrown into parenting early.
And the difference between Elle and Prentiss is that Prentiss's psycho murdered and threatened both her and the team and she new he would do it, so she did the only thing she thought should to protect them: lie and try and take out Doyle alone before he hurt anymore people.
Elle vindictively took out a rapist (who hadn't killed anyone)because her PTSD got the better of her and she botched the case against the Un Sub. He wasn't actively threatening anyone, nor was he threatening Elle at that point. It was a straight-up murder. Also...Prentiss never actually killed Doyle. Most she did was take out that one guy's ear.
lol. They pulled an SVU.
Question is the Kate pregnancy a Real Life Writes the Plot like with JJ, or just a new plot thread for the show?
And I hope they're not just going let the plot thread with Kate's niece and the online creeper just dangle.
So...the ending to this week's ep was creepy as fuck. Out of all the icky things we've seen on this show, that ending is what gave me the heebie-jeebies XD
Reid and the surveillance girl were kinda a cute but her chances aren't very good. Either we never see her or hear about her ever again, or she dies a horrible and painful death because the writers apparently like seeing Reid in emotional agony.

They quench their thirst with Reid's tears.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyIt's always weird to me seeing Marc Vann on Criminal Minds (or any other crime drama show for that matter), because he usually plays an expy of Conrad Ecklie and I usually am like, 'Hey, is this a crossover episode?'
Like creepy stories? Check out my book! So, i guess this is confirmation that CSI and Criminal Minds do not take place in the same universe?
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!I'll say, I liked the conclusion of the last episode. That Hotch and Haley's dad don't fully patch things up togheter. It'd have been easy for the show to go for the cliche ending where Roy lets go of his bitterness towards Hotch out of love of Haley and Jack, but I think it's so much more realistic - and mature of the show to have him say he'll only give up that when his Alzheimer makes him forget Haley (and the pain of losing her) altogether. I'm not gonna lie - I often find the plots dealing with the agents home line cliche and boring (Coz almost EVERY Police Procedural show has done the "Cop who can't make time for his family/loved ones because he can't take time off because PEOPLE WILL DIE if he's not fighting crime" plot), but that was very well done. Very realistic and going against expectations. So hurray Criminal Minds, for even in your 10th season finding bits of writing that impress me.
That and Ed Asner is an amazing actor.

Holy Hell O__o That was one of the few genuinely scary episodes of this show that I've seen. I mean plenty are disturbing, creepy and a few are outright icky, but this was TERRIFYING. Also this was the only episode without an ending voiceover or a quote (the season 4 finale did have Hotch's voiceover even if there was no ending quote). Full props to Mattew Gray Gubler's directing on this one
And was anyone else reminded of The Babadook when they saw the scratch monster?

Wait, so let me get this straight? It was implied at the start that the three people who were drugged and tricked into killed someone, are still being arrested and put to prison?
That...... seems harsh. Wouldn't psychiatric evaluation be more suitable?
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!Kinda feeling they are overusing the "Killer is seen engaging with people between his crime but the twist is THOSE PEOPLE WERE DEAD ALL ALONG AND HE'S HALLUCINATING THEM! OMG what a twist" plot.
Like, besides last episode, there was the dude and his mom in "Reflection of Desire" and same season we had the guy imagining a trio of assholes in "With Friends like These" and the season 4 episode with Skinner from the X Files hallucinating his family.

Watching how Elle left the show and how Prentiss (First) left the show is hilarious.
Hotchner: "Elle, you shot a dude who was clearly our unsub and got away from us and there's potential for legitimate defense here. It's unproffesional and I can't accept such behavior for an agent."
Hotchner: "Prentiss, you went on a rampage behind everyone's back to stop Doyle coz he was out to for you, kept info about who we were investigating that ended up causing Morgan to walk in an ambush not knowing who he was up against putting his life in jeopardy, you shot a dude in the ear to send him a message, you organized the faked death of a couple behind the back of the FBI and Interpol. That was cool. Here's a fuckton of passports and free money to live abroad under fake identity."
I know Elle and Prentiss' circumstances were different (Elle went to piss off someone coz she had her own issues, Prentiss was a victim), but it's sort of funny how Hotch gives no shits about Prentiss' going lone wolf and laying out the collateral damage. Something he's chewed out almost everyone of his team members about before.
EDIT: Also gonna say something that might be controversial... But I like Ashley Seaver as a character. Sure, her introduction was gimmicky, but she had some really nice scenes, especially with Rossi as a mentor. I loved the scene when they are looking for Doyle and Rossi asks her to use her being the newest member to her advantage, ask the questions they missed because they are too involved with Prentiss to notice the stuff that doesn't add up. I do wish she'd gotten more time as a character, but season 6 is a busy season, with JJ leaving, Prentiss' stuff with Doyle, Reid's migraine subplot, Strauss' Alcoholism subplot, I get there wasn't a super huge ammount of time to give Seaver to shine, and that's a shame, the character had potential.
