I feel like they haven't given her much to do. I don't dislike her, but she's got so little screentime so far I can't heap praise on her character either. Is it bad I've not watched anything she's been in so long I wouldn't have recognized her had the credits not told me who she is?
Liked the episodes so far, decent enough fair for the show, nothing exceptional, nothing bad either.
I liked them having Garcia deal with that guy she shot last season. That was nice of them to not just forget about it.
I also got a chuckle out of Morgan listing the ludicrous number of injuries he's suffered in universe. Seriously, dude must have healing factor that puts Wolverine's to shame.
I still however stand by my opinion that the show's been running for so long, they are short / out of ideas what to do. Like last episode. Hotch bemoaning how he missed Halloween with Jack. Yes. Here's a horse of a plot that hasn't been beaten to death yet, the "Hotch is sad he doesn't have more time with his kid" plot. I believe that one's been going since season 1.
I found last season's lack of a metaplot kinda refreshing. For one, it sort of get tiresome when every new season there's a criminal mastermind who wants to play mind game with the team. Seriously, you'd wonder if these dudes have their own union or something to decide who gets dibs on a given year. So in that aspect, a breather seasons without a big metaplot was nice. I do agree we're due one now.

Well this plot is less, evil criminal mastermind, more giant group of very creepy people running a kidnap/sell ring. It is different from their usual fair where it's either one or a small group of creeps concentrated in area. This seems more like a rather vast network, like the gypsy families from way back, except they don't seem to work in family units either.
I like the arcs because it keeps my attention for the season, it works up to something (but maybe I've been watching Doctor Who for too long ^^)and it usually guarantees a decent finale, unlike say, season 6 where they ran out of plot before the finale and just through in that girl running a slave ring thing which could have been done at ANY other time in the season. It just didn't feel like a finale, even if they did rush JJ back into the cast.

And played by A.J. 's actual son, as Sisi pointed out. And since JJ's pregnancy was a Written-In Infirmity, Henry can never look to old/young.

You lost!I have watched the first three eps so far, and I loved the "Garcia & Death Penalty" subplot from ep 2 - and it was an overall nice investigation with Masuka as the Unsub, to make it even better.
To me it really was one of the all-time highs on the show. I always enjoyed how morality was treated in CM (I remember an episode with a gay killer, for example, that was extremely perceptive), and this time the writers overdid themselves, while Kristen Vangsness was absolutely perfect. I found the final scenes to be extremely powerful. Even the guy playing the scum from last season's finale was great. And the music fitted perfectly (what was it, by the way ?). Kudos to them.
On the other hand, episode 3 was plain ridiculous and may contribute to a rise in phobia of airplanes. They should have debunked the possibility of it happening IRL in a message after the episode.

Frank from Season 2 remains the most Nightmare Fuel-y Big Bad.
Most unsubs simply shoot/stab/etc., but him? He actually made people witness their own autopsies (The only mercy was that ketamine numbs you up physically... but even that just kept them conscious longer.). And even though he died, it was still on his own terms, and he even got the last laugh (Bye, Gideon.). Even Foyet was unable to do that.

That, and Nothing Is Scarier comes into play when you remember they never fully revealed just what he did to Hotch (Foyet's pre-torture comments implied he was going to do some Prison Rape to disprove his impotence or something.).
He was a lot like Samantha Malcolm ("Uncanny Valley"): 50% Woobie, 50% And I Must Scream.
And the worst children-based ones were the Roycewoods ("Mosley Lane") and J.B. Allen ("Foundation"), especially since you never learned their motives; anything could've triggered them.
Okay...... about Rossi and Hotchner picking up chicks in a bar at the end of the latest episode..... isn't Hotchner already dating someone?

The mentioned he broke up with Beth in that conversation.
Im fine with that spinoff (at least it'll stand out from the original, unlike SB)as long as 1. They actually take advantage of the globe-trotting and shoot some exotic locals, at least for background shots, and 2. The execs don't try cutting costs by firing off members of the original team again.
Oh, I didn't catch that about Beth. Kind of abrupt. Did the actress want to leave, or did they just decide Hotchner was better single?
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!Since it's season 10 now, I figured, what the heck, let's re watch the first seasons. It's been a decade. Up to season 2 now.
It's an odd experience, seeing how little the show has changed in some what, and how much in other ways. And how much more... artsy the scenes of the team delivering the profile used to be, with them walking amongst or interacting with Imagine Spot of what the unsub could be like. I'm sort of sad the show no longer does that.
Also I miss Gideon, and I realized season 1 has a running plot: Reporters are scum.
All the way to the 4th season... the Romani kidnapping family episode... Am I the only one squicked by this episode? Especially the stinger that's essentially going "Beware them Gypsies planning to steal your kids!"
It's like... wow. Unfortunate Implications ahoy.

A shame they did not keep it (cost I guess), because the current version of "everyone saying one sentence" is rather stupid. If you want to explain something to a large bunch of policemen, as it is usually the case, it would be much more natural to have one character doing the entire explanation (they can change from one episode to another). This sequence always look very artificial to me.
Oh wow, we actually have Rossi saying "Alot of Romani make their living as petty thieves"... That episode is racist....
I agree. So far I'd say they changed to the "Each person says one sentence - no artsy integration of the person speaking in a montage with a typical unsub" in season 2. We get a few more (including some in season 3 and a BAU-less montage of a typical unsub who fits the profile but isn't ours in season 4) but Season 2 is where the "current" profile scene became the dominant type.

Does anyone here want to discuss Season 10?
