-Shrugs- A witch is someone that does magic that isn't actually possible. Like turning a tree into acid or something. You can't change the chemical composition on that level. Petrification is only possible because we're all carbon based, and even that required a bit of talent.
MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon Alchemist(to Cloud) Yeah, that makes sense....exactly why science is still baffled with witchcraft in general.
(to Granz) Hey, it's a work in progress okay? We're making these weapons stronger by the decade, it'll take a while. Besides, the problem is the virus, and developing something to counter that is going to take even longer.
Well, to put it short, big deadly virus outta nowhere, people get infected, die and become monsters. That's all you need to know.
"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiIts just taking a while? Excuse me but if I'm a little suspiscious of weapons becoming stronger by the minute but a cure being nearly impossible to find. Weapons are greed taken shape.

This is a robbery. Give me all of your money and I'll kill you.(sigh) Making weapons stronger is a pretty simple task. They're not meant for invasion, or conquest or anything. Just self defense, alright? They already put a bunch of strict laws on weapon usage as is.
And the virus? They're still trying to figure the damn thing out, let alone find a cure. It just came out of freakin nowhere, and researching it is already extremely dangerous.
Oh, and I said by the DECADE man. Not minute. You're exaggerating things.

"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiWeapons are easy. Cures are damn near impossible. With weapons, you can build on preexisting tech. With a cure, you're usually dealing with a new virus, right the fuck outta nowhere. Assuming you're lucky enough to have it similar to another virus you've already cured, there's still the matter of figuring out which proteins you can mess with and which you can't. They also replicate using the host's own cells by corrupting the DNA. With bacteria, you can just take antibiotics, but viruses aren't truly living to begin with, apart from a few rare exceptions. To date, even in my world, which I'll be so bold to say is ahead of most of yours in terms of biotech, they have yet to discover a drug that kills viruses.
And they mutate. Quickly. So you can have it cured one day, and have to start from scratch the next. -Sips his tea-
I could go on.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistYou don't think I've never tried that? That university-graduate mages and scientists with millions of gil in funding haven't tried that? Doesn't matter what you use. A virus is still a virus. It will still change, it will still corrupt the host, and the body will have to adapt to it or die. Simple as that.
And if you bring them here, you'll be endangering everyone else here, and I will kill you to save the rest of us.

(is stopped) Jeez, I'm not. I'm just giving it a test run, y'know?
