-Nods- Well, there's a lot of stuff in between, but still... No airships, either. Well, they have them, but they're called dirigibles, and they're pathetically slow. Their computer tech and space programs are unbelieveable — they've had people walk on the moon — they even recorded it — but their biotech is... is easily several centuries behind ours. They're still hung up over stem cells. It's ridiculous...

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistDunno. I haven't died yet, though, so...
Of course, most biotech is banned now back home, along with mako, so the economy's in the toilet... along with everything else.
-to Mime- It's not just a light. A moon is a smaller body of rock or something orbiting a planet, so in theory, there is something to walk on, but...
People also raised a big stink about these buildings that got blown up a few years ago.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon Alchemist-Nods- Not planning on going anytime soon, either.
-to Lip- I don't think life is bad. I just think that there are certain realities that people aren't willing to face, like death. Life is painful and terrifying and harsh and cruel and ultimately beautiful, for those moments in between. I live for those moments.
What gets me thinking, though... there are a lot of people that think those two buildings were blown up by their own government. I dunno, I think I might be inclined to agree with them... I mean, it's just like what Shinra did with Sector Seven. Kill a bunch of people, pin the blame on someone else, get everyone waving flags, then go after whoever you want...
...Of course, maybe they did do it. Kind of like what we did when we bombed Sectors One and Five. They can't have been too good, though, because they died... can't blow anyone else up, can they?

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistIt's not stupid. It's brilliant. You create a disaster, pin the blame on someone else, get the public against them, then use it as an excuse to do anything you want. Like invade Wutai again, or get funding for your wild goose chase, or go to war in Iraq for... coal, was it? I forgot.
...I wonder... if those people had succeeded, they wouldn't be painted as comic book bad guys like that. They'd be brave soldiers, responsible for overthrowing the tyranical Americal government. It's not too far from what happened with us. People were very quick to abandon Shinra's ideals when they saw we had killed them all.
I guess history really is written by the victors...
...I should type Cloud's Philosophy on the Modern World ™ sessions more often. These are so much fun...
MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistStill not sure what that "Holocaust" thing was about, either... I checked, and there was this great whopping death toll for it, but humans in this world can't do magic, since their planet is dead at the core, and only has that weird "magma" stuff.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon Alchemist"Woah Cloud, you're kind of scaring me there. Seesh, other worlds seem so complicated. Power struggle this, evil leader that, and sprinkle in some civil war and the upcoming apocolapse and apparently you get what someone calls home."
"I'm starting to think that if people in other worlds had the power to revive, they'd keep dying just like in my world...."
"And darn... I could've ruled my world for once blowing up my city accidentally? Grr...."

DeerNo. It only works for people already in power. You'd need a death toll of at least a thousand, and you'd need to pin the blame on someone else — say, a convenient rebel group (Avalanche, Al Qaida, what-have-you), and then you'd rally the people behind you and start your killing spree.
The apocalypse already happened. We're still picking up the pieces. Wutai is now a superpower again, because they were far away enough from both impact and the blast from Aeris's little trick.
Of course, the relations with Wutai were always a little rocky... then they erupted everywhere after Professor Gast and the Science Department — well, that's another story. Very messy. Involves politics and the Promised Land.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistI have my own brand of politics. It involves explosions, theft, and stabbing. Shinra and the Earth people just happen to call it terrorism.
As far as I know, your world is the only world that has them. Maybe Arrok's.
What makes you think just because you're with your own species, you'll be safer? People are scumbags regardless of species. I have yet to have this disproven. It's, uh... it's one of the reasons I get so mad whenever someone comes in here and starts talkin' dirt about humans, lowly mortals, whatever. Not because I think they're wrong, but 'cause they're no better. Self-righteous bastards...

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistYour sort of politics sounds very... err... manly.
It's true that some people choose to become awful, horrible monsters, discredits to their kind. But they can choose not to travel down that road. What kind of person they want to be.., that's what it all depends on.
pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDS-Nods- But the fact that we can chose makes us all the worse... because at the end of the day, we still consciously made the choice to do what we did...
...
...I'll... I'm trying to put a lot of that behind me. It's counter-productive to dwell too much on these things. But it's hard, sometimes. When I was with Shinra, firing into a crowd full of civilian rebels was proudly serving the empire. Now, I could be — I could even be arrested for war crimes if anyone bothered to check Random Trooper Number blah blah blah's record... which they won't, but...

" A planet with a molten core? How aren't they melting? And poison air... that's just plain scary."
"I can see why you hang out here a lot."
