How about we start planning things out over a lakeside stroll?...
Are you trained to deal with them? If you're going to go up against a Horror without magic or Soul Metal, you're almost certainly going to end up eaten or becoming one of them....

As a matter of fact, yes!

A great armoured figure, resplendent in a cool, grey plate, hoisted an axe, easily as tall as a man, over its shoulder, and turned, walking in the flitting, pale moonlight between branches. As it advanced, the inconsistent light reflected upon spots on his armour, thick and viscous splatters over intricate, white designs of a dogged complexity.
The monologue stopped, and whoever it was turned, a figure standing out but wreathed, somehow, in shadow nonetheless.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]Nice name, I like it! Rolls off the tongue a lot better than Sword...
I can sense strength in you....but pure strength is not enough to battle Horrors.
....What in the-?....
-He watches the armored figure slowly march away, before turning his attention toward where it was walking from....-

That's a corpse, Nephew, head cleanly split, no doubt by that great axe the warrior carried.
The body was in rough shape, but aside from the wounds were scars, large, eight-pointed stars and a heavy, brutal icon echoed in a stamped brass plate on the corpse's shoulder.
The ground was slicked with blood, the grey warrior's boot prints making a trail of it.
"Oh! I'm very sorry, am I tresspassing? I don't mean to, I'm just..."
She paused, checking a phone, which illuminated a pair of glasses and...red skin. Weird, must be the light.
"Very lost!" she finished, as if surprised with whatever she was looking up.
