Outside (Jean)
-So she needs to think ahead?-
"...I've always struggled at thinking ahead..."
-She sort of gets caught up in the heat of it. Maybe in other situations she'd be able to stop and think, but in the middle of a fight not so much...-
"...Do you have any suggestions on how to get better at that?"
It's a problem I've seen in you over multiple sessions. You're easily overwhelmed by everything happening inside a fight.
Honestly the best way of getting the hang of things is with practice and familiarity. Things become second nature- like muscle memory.
Ahhh... vell, if you need somezhing to do. I can find somezhing at least.
Or you could ask around at zhe house. Chances are somevone needs help vith somezhing.

-She's still got such a long way to go...-
"...So just keep practicing then?"
-It's really irritating that it doesn't feel like she's getting that much better...-
-It's obvious that she's getting somewhere, but it just... doesn't really feel like it to her.-
"I've got to get past this..."
-nods- Anyway, I think that's it for today. Didn't really intend to be fighting you today, anyway. I have to get used to my programming.
I still have some of the generic codes' scripts active. Like I really want to sucker-punch you as part of surprise attack protocols, but the new personality paradigm doesn't allow sucker punches.

-the hand goes towards the belt that Mimic's wearing-
-it looks more like a scroll than yours does-
-with a fancy 'L' on it for some reason-
-with a lift, a 'book' snaps close and a light shines over Mimic-
-de-transformed, Mimic looks... human-

And things to do. I can't go off of the codes I have on this memory. Because everything he was doing was 'trying to stop the leak of Saga Drivers'
And I'm the only one of those here, and this isn't even a real one. It's holographic.

-Somewhere she can find him then...?-
"Well, uh... You could claim one of the rooms upstairs? Not like they're going to be running out of those anytime soon..."
-As for things to do...-
"...Things I do when I'm not 'trying to train are just watching TV, playing games, or reading. They've got an awesome selection."
-So many shows, books, and games...! Those and the free food might be some of the best reasons (albeit small in comparison to many other reasons) to be here.-
Outside (Jean)
"I'm sure there's other stuff you can do here too... There's the basement where the exercise equipment is. You could talk to people too, I guess..."
-She still struggles going out of her way to talk to people...-
"So, uh... enjoy your stay."
-She really does mean that, but she's being awkward again.-
Outside (Jean)
"...There are a lot of people here, so it's not like you're going to have to hunt someone down to talk to."
-Ack, she really has no idea what to say.-
-This thing is still really strange, to be honest...-
"...Sorry. I, uh... have a hard time talking sometimes."
-She just gets tongue-tied, shy, and awkward.-
-And this does extend to extremely human-like robots.-
Sometimes these things line up- awkwardness in conversation, awkwardness in combat.
They can be related if you're thinking that you're not good in either, it reinforces the idea. You don't trust your own instincts.
Learning a new life skill's taking a while?
-Ches just says while reading a book-
I wonder what number that makes you. Probably beyond counting.

-...Oh.-
"...I think I see what you mean."
-More of the 'self-esteem' thing...-
-She's struggled with it for so long, and it feels like it's pretty much ingrained to her at this point.-
-...She wasn't so bad when she was just a kid, but it eventually sort of snuck up on her on top of other things...-
"...I'll try to work on it."
-It's all she can do, right? Not that she has any idea of how...-

I always try to think, not of the current situation, but of the situation I want to be in. I think of the moves I'm doing after my current one.
I try to make sure I am the one in control of what's happening- the less options my opponent has, the better. Makes the fight more predictable.
Xenos already told you about keeping the initiative there.
Finally, when you're not the one holding the initiative- you hold back, and wait until you figure out a tactic that'll put you back in the lead. You watch what the opponent does, and figure out how they fight.
