Hah! Well, there you go.

(cracks her knuckles - well, at least the ones on her real hand)

So whatcha been up to, Mil?

"I've had rather unpleasant dreams."

Yeah? Me too. Hit me with yours.

(says this like bad dreams are just another thing for her)

"I met two people... No, three. A drake, a beastwoman, and someone else. Around them, my mind became weak, subservient, like a dog desperate for a treat. It was utterly shameful."

I see, I see... As a logical person I'd say to dismiss that dream. But as a person rooted in mythology I say delve deeper into it.

Maybe... hmm. Remind me of when we met and I cut your hair, what was all that shit with the portals again?

("Andersen said she had a Hyde. So, maybe...")

You... say you don't have a conscious mind around them, right? So, maybe either the soul or the body...

Soul, mind, body. The three parts of a human. They normally shouldn't be able to sustain themselves if separated, but accidents happen.

...Like, say, a half-successful attempt at reincarnation.

Oh, they have a tendency to be interwoven. Like, it's super hard to separate a mind and soul, especially when both are unstable without a body to anchor them to, but it can happen.

(subconsciously puts her hands on her chest)

Phew, I was about to call myself out for digressing. Basically... your soul probably was a piece of someone else's, which was sundered in that failed reincarnation attempt. The others in that dream... maybe they're other pieces? One of which managed to keep the original mind. I dunno, I'm spitballing here.

"... Excuse me for the skepticism, but, would that not mean I'd have formed out of the air? Would I not be collected and used as a homunculus? The body cannot survive on an incomplete soul, it's not even theoretics."

Maybe your fragment filled in the cracks by drawing excess spirit particles from the Root? Or maybe your original had such a heavy soul that splitting it would still allow the fragments to survive as individuals. That the world decided was "complete enough."

"You're still acting like I'm from your world. And besides... nothing I know has ever existed with such a soul. The one exception... with divinity, you either completely destroy them, or you don't phase them. And my soul is certainely not divine."

So remove all that moisture from the area. Is the area still wet?

"Unless you've turned it to vapor, than the water used to moisturize is still wet, and if we go into vapor, your entire argument starts to get a little spread out."

Yeah, so you're the vapor. You're wet but nobody knows you are.

Yeah, I kinda walked into that one... blame my 29-hour work day.

Though yeah. What I was trying to go for was that maybe your Divinity rank is so low that nobody can recognize it as such?

Trip Since: Mar, 2012
#1306799: Mar 10th 2018 at 11:44:39 PM

"It feels to me your usage of "rankings" is still situated in your world. I can't blame you, it's difficult to truly consider a world where things are completely different, but... I feel this is an incredibly unlikely scenario, not to mention... heretical. My theory myself was... some form of reincarnation. How a Drake emerged in my dream, considering dragons aren't connected to the path a human soul takes, but... more than likely, she was another beastwoman, one fashioned after a wyvern. They exist, and there's plenty of confusion."

foxmccloud4387 Since: Mar, 2011
#1306800: Mar 10th 2018 at 11:49:05 PM

...Okay, two things. One - "rank" is very applicable to other worlds if you use it metaphorically. It's pretty dang metaphorical back home anyhow. And two - you think you're some sort of dragon chick?
