Main Room (Aichi)
-Aichi looks over to Leos.-
"Oh, Leos! This is Eigl. I met him a couple days ago."
-Aichi then had an idea. Leos is a nice guy that deals with all sorts of technology... Maybe he could help with Eigl's earpiece?-
"Um... Do you think you could look at Eigl's earpiece, Leos? He's been trying to contact his world, but hasn't had any luck yet..."
-Maybe Aichi's a little too quick to ask if Leos can help, but he has good intent... That means something, right? Wait, he should have asked Eigl if he was OK with it first...-
"I-I mean if you're all right with it, Eigl... Leos is a friend of mine and he's really good with stuff like this!"
-... Although Leos may not necessarily want to in the first place. Aichi does feel a little guilty asking.-
Main Room (Aichi)
-Leos had a point about that... It really was a long shot the star gate had even worked... It's pretty unfair of Aichi to ask something like that...-
"S-Sorry... I shouldn't have..."
-... Wait, he said he'd look at it?-
"You will?"
-Aichi's glad Leos doesn't mind too much for him imposing.-
"Thank you, Leos!"
-As for what Eigl said Aichi really should have considered that as well, but he didn't. Aichi's sheepish now.-
"T-That makes sense... It doesn't hurt to try though does it?"

Hmmm... (He looks over the earpiece with scrutiny.)
It's fairly standard, but... doesn't it require a connection to an array or something? Like a satellite?
(Considering that most of humanity's Mobile Suit-involved wars involved developing communication systems that were capable of overpowering the interference caused by Mobile Suit operations on other forms of communication, it would make sense to look at a system's infrastructure.)
"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human.""A wired connection to —"
He takes something else on his hip; a small tablet, much like this
◊ but without the markings. It has one circular port on its side.
"this."
dead devotionMain Room (Aichi)
-10 to 15 miles... How many kilometers would that be*...? Aichi's a little out of his element in this discussion, but he's pretty sure that 10-15 miles isn't going to do much good here...-
"..."
-He's still just listening and looking. He doesn't really have anything he can say.-
*Apparently Japan uses kilometers so I figured I should have Aichi make some kind of mental note about it.
Main Room (Aichi)
-Aichi can't help but be disappointed that Leos can't really help Eigl, but he appreciates the fact that Leos tried. He looks over to Eigl.-
"S-Sorry... I really thought there might have been a chance..."
-He then looks over to Leos.-
"Sorry, Leos. I should have realized how unlikely it was..."
-Aichi's optimism was definitely a sign of naivety on his part. He feels bad for wasting both Leos and Eigl's time.-
Main Room (Aichi)
-Aichi knows it's not his fault, but he still feels disappointed about being him and Leos being unable to help. Not that he blames Leos of course. Leos did what he could.-
"A-All right..."
-And Leos is right about it not being easy. If it had been easy all three of them (and many others) probably would have left by now.-
"Yeah... We wouldn't be here if it was, would we?"
-He has (yet another) sheepish look on his face.-

"Yes. It's worked in most other situations, barely. It's one way; can't switch to different channels while it's on." He shrugs. "I've been trying to contact my superiors, to no avail."
