-Aichi nods in response to Leos.-
"Yeah. After the first turn both players get to have the chance to attack during their turn."
-Aichi's glad that Mia's still interested in learning about Vanguard.-
"Then during the opponent's turn they ride and call cards like I did. Once they call all the cards they want to call then they attack."
-Aichi decides to attempt to give a demonstration without another deck.-
"Imagine that the opponent is attacking my Vanguard with theirs. Let's say they have 8,000 attack just like mine. If their attack hits I would have to take a card and place it in the Damage Zone... if you get six cards in the Damage Zone you lose."

-Aichi continues explaining to Leos and Mia-
"If you don't want your opponent's attack to get through you have to guard. You would take a card out of your hand like... this one
for example. You see the numbers on the side there?"
-He is speaking of the "10,000" on the card.-
"That's its shield. You add that to your attack and if the opponent's attack is less than your total number then they don't succeed, but... when you attack with the Vanguard you get to do something called a Drive Check. The attacker checks the top card of their deck, shows it to the opponent, and adds it to their hand. Depending on what card it is a few things can happen."
Main Room
"Ah... For example the card I showed you that I used to guard... Do you see that yellow symbol in the top right corner? If someone drew a card during their Drive Check with that symbol they could add 5,000 attack to one of their units and a critical. If a card with a critical hits your Vanguard you take two damage instead of one... or more depending on how many criticals it has!"
Each one of these triggers has a different effect. The yellow one adds a critical, the blue one makes it so one of your non-Vanguard units can attack again, a red one lets you draw a card, and the green one heals you if you have equal to or more cards in your Damage Zone than your opponent."
-It's clear that Aichi is really getting into explaining this game to both Leos and Mia.-

Thanks. I could probably use some faith.
(To Jack) Hmmm? Oh, just an adversary I've apparently picked up.
(to Mia) Yeah, from someone called... "Eires?"
"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."
