What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?
Franklin wanders around the forest, scanning the area for any interesting anomalies. He had finished readjusting his smartwatch earlier, along with his smartpack (allowing that device to debug the software issues on his goggles).
" The female engineer's Full-Armor Gundam has been detected within the vicinity. Most likely piloted by the female or the Gjallarhorn soldiers: Michael and/or Julieta," H.E.R.B.I.E informs.
"Really?" The Son Of A Genius slowly tracks the traveling mech suit, though it's not an easy task. "I guess I can meet them in person, or one of them?"

Alright, rather than waste his breath, Franklin decides to just wait for—it stopped! Wasting his breath, Franklin quickly runs up to Michael's new suit, panting a bit as he looks up at the seemingly towering mech.
"So...this is...the "Thunderbolt"? Or Gundam, right?" Franklin gasps. "So who's...piloting this beast?"

(The suit is only slightly bigger than Michael is, Franklin: it is only Powered Armor after all.)
(...He's looking at you, kid.)
Franklin Richards, am I right?

So you're still gonna keep watch on me?
Darn straight! I've been assigned a job, and I'm not gonna give up on it because someone's trying to slander me!
Listen, I know what you're going through, but-
No you don't! I'm not a Maverick and I never will be!

Franklin's heart jumps, almost surprised that the Thunderbolt user recognizes him. Almost, indeed, as his mind quickly cites the fact that the soldiers closely besides him and Lune yesterday.
"Yep...errr?" Was the voice modified by any chance? Franklin didn't want to get blindsided.

(The voice is enhanced, but not terribly enough to make it hard to tell whether it's male or female. It's actually the former.)
Heh, where are my manners? Michael Tapferin, at your service. (He raises an arm in an attempt to shake hands... except the hand is actually gripping the handgrip of a big double-barrelled cannon.)

"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."
Franklin's blue eyes stare at the weapon, trying to take in its craftsmanship. He's not, typically, dabble in weapon design (His parents would have be mighty furious for even attempting to replicate a repulsor cannon; though, he still would have done it in secret.), but he can still appreciate Lune's work.
But wait, Michael is trying to shake his hand, with his weapon dominant one. Awkwardly, Franklin pats down near the gripping hand, hopefully avoiding a close-range mistake.
"I heard this suit's designed from your universe's history, Michael; your military must be a dominant force there, right? " Franklin asks, inspecting the power armor further. "I also heard you have a pink symbiote problem running around..."
edited 7th Aug '17 9:23:12 AM by XMenMutant22
(Thankfully, the weapon does not discharge, so Franklin has literally dodged a beam blast there.)
Well, no and yes. Technically speaking, this suit is based off a design used in another timeline that just happens to have Mobile Suits. Beam weaponry is virtually obsolete in my universe, for a very good reason. As for Gjallarhorn, we're more or less a peacekeeping force in charge of keeping an eye on the Solar System.
But a pink symbiote? From what I hear, the angry half is sealed away in a pocket dimension, while the quiet half is somewhere else.

"Space Police, huh? Figures, though not uncommon where I'm from..."
" Indeed, Master Richards. Including, but not limited to: The Nova Corps, S.W.O.R.D, allegedly The Guardians of The Galaxy, coincidentally the Klyntar..."
Franklin pats down his smartwatch, giving H.E.R.B.I.E the appropriate warning. "Sorry, butler A.I. And I'm assuming your enemies are susceptible to beam attacks in, like, the worst way, or a resource thing? Then again, lasers aren't that versatile..."
Though, he does stop his train of thought to briefly look a tad disappointed upon hearing the symbiote's fate. "Really? I mean, symbiote offsprings with different minds aren't unheard of (please, H.E.R.B.I.E, no dumping), but I was...maybe...interested...in getting a sample?"
Fanboyism aside, Franklin looks around briefly, almost as if he heard someone else.

It's a tad bit more complicated. See, a long time ago... in my universe, beam weaponry was very much a thing, except it was being used by autonomous super-weapons that humanity thought was a good idea to built, except they'd gone rogue. In order to stop them on their rampages and prevent more casualties, we managed to develop two technologies.
The first was Mobile Suits, giant mechanical constructs designed to emulate the human body. The second was nano-laminate armour. The alloy that the armour was made out of allowed the Mobile Suits it was painted on to deflect the energy created by the Mobile Armours' beam weapons.
As the conflict continued, it wasn't long before two very special technologies allowed us to win the war. An organisation was formed to come up with that technology, and that organisation was Gjallarhorn, or at least the first iteration of it. They developed the 72 Gundam-Frames, Mobile Suits that had twice the power of their brethren each, and the Alaya Vijnana System, which allowed the pilot to push the Gundams to their full potential.
Under the leadership of Agnika Kaieru, the pilot of the first Gundam-Frame, Bael, they worked together to destroy the Mobile Armours and end the Calamity War forever. The survivors with the highest amount of kills to their names were given the honourary status as the Seven Stars of Gjallarhorn, and since then, we've been keeping an eye on things.
"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."
Amusingly, Franklin had placed himself into in crossed legs sitting position, actively listening to Michael's story time. What a pleasurable ride it must have been to imagine a straight-forward battle between good and evil, with underdog soldiers outsmarting a powerful menace using their tech against them.
"The summary has been recorded for future reference, Master Richards, hopefully under the full compliance of Mr. Michael Tapferin."
" Thank you..." Franklin softly squeals, before transition into something more professional...in a criss cross applesauce look. "Seeing the taboo now; you're a pretty modest guy for not talking about your efforts...(Unless I missed a beat?)"
Well, the Calamity War did happen 300 years before I was born, so there is that. Another reason that we don't use beam weapons in my universe, is because nano-laminate armour was so effective during the Calamity War, everyone's using it now. It's simply impractical to use beam weapons now.
"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."
"Gotcha...cool heroes to look up to." The teen snaps his pointer fingers as he gets back on his feet. " Nano-Laminate Armor...its properties remind me of my dad's Unstable Molecules material. Though, that's geared for clothing, especially to lessen the amount of naked superbeings running around."
He ponders a little more towards the suit, continuing with: "Railguns must be pretty popular then? Does you partner have her own [suit]?"
Julieta Juris does haver her own armour, yes, but I'm thinking of getting her an upgrade.
Railguns, though, I believe aren't that particularly common. The only one that I know is active is the one that Iok uses.

"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."Sorry, forgot to note that I was traveling.
"Define: "LOK", " H.E.R.B.I.E interjects.
"Good, can't have all the "fun" to yourself," he winks at the Gjallarhorn soldier. "That reminds me: she had one of those action figures modeled after the inventor...whose name escapes me.Can't blame her for enjoying it, the inventor's...likeness is pretty spot on."
The teen scratches the back of his head, only to bring up: "Which helped trying to find her, besides Marcia's help. And we're planning on working together more often, so I think Julieta will get her mech sooner than you think..."

"Corrections to "Lok" and "Blond Female Engineer": Noted."
"Augh, sorry, I think there's something familiar about it that threw me off," Franklin quickly backtracks, scratching his head even quicker before blowing some steam. "Seriously, brain fart (brain fart?). But thanks for the tip-off on Lune's name, been bothering earlier."
Scanning their surroundings, Franklin remembers that he heard something earlier. The thought is quickly shrugged off for Franklin to ask, "How's the suit so far, out of combat?"
