Though her eyelids still remained narrowed, Kale's eyes look up at Broly, then her mentor, before alternating between the two as they speak. She remains silent as Caulifla responds:
"Kale-san always tells me that she wants to be a better Saiyan, especially when she doesn't have anything else to rely on. Part of that is learning how to fight like one, so I took her into my gang to refresh herself. "
Caulifla looks at Kale with an earnest nod of encouragement, before continuing:
"She puts herself down a lot, 'specially when she says "I'm just..." this or "I'm pathetic" and what not. I don't blame her for feeling that way, but I'm not gonna let her ruin herself when she's got potential. Hell, Kale-san has been realizing this, right Kale?"
Kale looks up at Caulifla, but mildly shrugs with a weaker smile than usual. Caulifla is taken aback by this a little, though tries to change the subject.
"'Sides, Mr. "Multiple Bot Smasher", you should know that we're a warrior race. We all gotta fight sometimes, even the passive type."
Crossing her arms and glaring heavily at Broly, she snarks, "Already told you: she wants to be a better Saiyan!"
"No...I mean." Caulifla twirls around to listen to Kale finally speak up. Finally, something from the horse's mouth. "I...I have...I think...there's a motive. I...I want to...I want to protect you, S-Sis. If...if I ever had to fight...it's would be to do that...to be less of a burden to you. D-Does that c-count?"
Caulifla couldn't decide whether or not to feel honored, or flabbergasted by the response. "Kale-san, you really don't have too. Y'ah know Mia, Caulifla. I can handle myself..."

"Damn it...oh well, I'll keep looking. I don't think anyone caught me snooping around, anyways."
"Does she fight because she wants to, or because you tell her she should enjoy it?"
