....Meh.
My ancestor helped fight giant mechanical autonomous superweapons in order to stop humanity getting wiped out over three centuries before my birth.
Single mummies are nothing compared to those monsters.
...Though, saying that, Aelfi's only looking out for you.

"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."My father's a guy called Jack Livingstone.
He's an archaeologist- like me. But also an- adventurous type. Kind of eccentric.
His type was outdated by the time WW 2 happened, but- he's kind of a living relic of that kind of adventuring.

...If I remember my history right, that was an intense international conflict that occurred near the end of the... 2nd millennium of the Anno Domini calendar?
(Post-apocalyptic environment, calendar changed by an apocalyptic event, you do the math)
"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."Yes- something like that, I suppose.
Point is, he travelled across the world. China, Egypt- Japan- anywhere that there was an adventure to be had, and archaeology to be done- he'd be there.
So he found this tomb in Egypt once...
1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this postIt just so happened to have been the resting place of a super-villain from Ancient Egypt. Had herself mummified.
So my dad entered the tomb as he usually would- and accidentally woke her up.
And my father never said how- or whether it was a curse- but she was just- obsessed with him. Utterly infatuated is what he says.
So- my dad, not wanting to date a thousand year old corpse- promptly had to fight her over the artifacts in her tomb so that they could go to a museum. Also because he was creeped out.
But it didn't end with her body being destroyed in the fight...
She became a ghost. And he's haunted by her.
To the extent that he has a set of codes that identify whether someone hitting on him is actually her possessing their body.

Heh. I guess you have a point there.
"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."Absolutely dreadful. But hey- at least the mansion is big enough where it's not too cramped.
Because he didn't do his job for free... also he did kind of avert the apocalypse a few times. And he owns a lot of museums- so the stuff that doesn't go into the running or the payment of staff keeps him at an income...
And he plays stocks...

Didn't you read a book that said the Moon has an absurd amount of gold inside it?
Well- yes. But that has been disputed before- when Apollo went up there after Cavor & Bedford.
They didn't see gold, so people doubt whether the 1901 British Independent Expedition actually happened.

....Walked into that one, huh?
