I lucked out on the shrapnel. They didn't cut major arteries- or they embedded in my coat.
long time ago, I toughened up my coat to be more shock-absorbent and more importantly fireproof.
Though the shock did stun me substantially- I was out of it, and barely conscious. The gunshot that killed Raut woke me up. It was at that moment, unattended- that i injected myself with a temporary antidote for invisibility- to give the impression that i had truly died- as well as following it up with another injection of a chemical that- like you said- repressed bodily functions to a deathlike state.
1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this post(Michael heard the commotion in the main room and has decided to investigate with a cereal bar in his hand)
...What's going on here?
(Fox, redhead dude in a fancy white and blue uniform with golden shoulder padding and detailing has also popped up. He has a slight British accent to his voice)

"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."

(Hoshi is walking down the stairs, Homura)
(and by "walking", I mean "going at a snail's pace")
(and by "going at a snail's pace", I mean "going at a snail's pace because hs's trying to take a whole wheelbarrow of weight-looking things down a flight of stairs")
