...Uhh.
It's a historical event that happened in my home dimension about... 3 centuries before I was born.
Humanity had just discovered half-metal, which was an alloy that revolutionised modern engineering practices at the time. It allowed us to create Ahab Reactors, which would allow us to live comfortably in the far reaches of the Solar System.
It would've been quite extraordinary...
If someone hadn't built the Mobile Armours.

"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."No. They were much worse. They were autonomous weapon platforms, superweapons that were able to raze entire cities to the ground and theoretically were able to produce infinite numbers of support drones.
They were devastatingly powerful until Gjallarhorn came into the picture.
"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."You'd be right. They were created along with the Alaya-Vijñana System to use as a weapons system that would grant the maximum amount of flexibility to fight against those abominations of science.
But it wasn't until the Gundam-Frames and nanolaminate armour was developed that the War changed forever.

"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."Yep. The armour was capable of deflecting attacks from the beam weapons that the Mobile Armours possessed. But the Gundam-Frames were a different story. Not only did they possess the nanolaminate armour, they were able to wield more powerful weapons thanks to the powers granted by their onboard Twin Ahab Reactors.
Combined with the flexibility granted by the Alaya-Vijñana System, they were the ultimate Mobile Armour hunter. 72 of those machines were created and they allowed us to end the Calamity War.

"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."They were, indeed.
The pilots of those Gundam-Frames were heralded as heroes once the War had ended, and out of those heroes, seven of the most effective pilots were given status as the Seven Stars of the newly-formed Gjallarhorn, the ultimate defenders of peace.

"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."(His face falls ever so slightly) ...Hmm.
Yeah, I guess you can say that. But, what good would that do if I can't find a way to get back home?
(Notices Warwick)
Warwick? What are you doing there?

"We all fail. We all make mistakes. That is what makes us human."-There is a thick black mist encroaching-
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?616 regarded the mist, and tried to file away the way it moved and approached, along with its overall cohesiveness for later...but at the moment it was like trying to stuff a file folder into a cabinet that had been dropped off of a skyscraper: the file wasn't going to fit anyway, even if you could wrench the damn thing open.
She hazily registered her own blood on the rocks and hoped that whatever it was wouldn't touch it.
-Sandra, this lady is covered in the stuff and there's something real fucky about it-
