I would have to disagree.
Without science we'd all be dying in the cities because we'd have no medicine.
No understanding of bacteria such as Cholera.
Without science we wouldn't even begin to grasp how to better our lives with electricity.
I remember a time without central heating, where you had to rely on a fireplace and layers to keep warm in the winter.
