Homura: (S) No reason - just someone other than a person and their future self to isolate compounding variables.
(A) <I never met him.> Least I don't think she did - I know she encountered Tommy.
(R) But it works, doesn't it?

The damned queen and the relentless knight."Nope, Scrolls of Eternity. They record the timelines."
-Shown on the scrolls are what look like visions of prominent events in different timelines...and all of them depict Gohan-
-An older Gohan, looking possessed, fighting Vegeta-
-A young Gohan fighting Frieza-
-And one that the Supreme Kai doesn't seem to notice yet is Dio murdering Teen Gohan-
Murder- is easy.
Easier than trying to be non-lethal in everything you do as a criminal.
Their self-preservation, as soon as Black Star's gone- will turn violent because everyone else would start to make a move- and the old plans that Black Star would make- would no longer be there.
The whole structure of their gang falls apart.

-nods- No-one has risked a turf war with Black Star. Vigilantes would automatically side with the "Lesser Evil" even if both groups are criminals- they're going to side with the ones that make it a policy of never accepting murder.
And- well- Black Star's good at keeping their heat low enough that other villains usually get top priority with what we do, over what they do- because they at least don't take human lives.
So, they get a lower priority- lower attention- whilst still running a solid organization that can rival the Iron Mask's.
All because they're not as bad as the rest of us.
