Canes are good weapons.
And a good concealed weapon, because people don't expect it.
You could even use an umbrella.
But for offense- a good walking stick is better.
-he stretches a little- Though we won't be doing any fencing using these today. That's just yours for you to keep.
Twist the hook a little and pull though. Since I know that cane fencing isn't everyone's preferred method.

Then I'll teach you some pugilism, and kicks from Savate.
These are basics that are good to fall back on. A backbone of how you fight.
We'll finish off with starting on some grappling techniques which are good to remember for situational encounters.
-when Audrey twists and pulls, it reveals that the cane he gave her in fact had a hidden dagger in it attached to the hook of the cane-
-it's about 7 inches long-

There are three principles that must be remembered.
These are the essential things that you aim to do.
It's good to remember them so that you can form your strategy.
One, disturb the equilibrium of your opponent- upsetting their balance, making sure that they are the ones on the back-foot. Making them unfocused.
Two, surprise them before they have the time to regain their balance and use their strength
Three- If necessary, subject the joints of any parts of the body, whatever it is, to strains that they are anatomically and mechanically unable to resist.

Pretty much.
You don't want to match their strengths.
You want to manipulate it.
If a man is taller than you- strike low- it'll take him much longer to react to attacks like that.
1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this postDepends on how much shorter.
You'll want to try and strike low regardless, but- well- they're there, so striking high is a good option too. Especially if you make them believe you'll strike low- their arms will be down, and will require time to come up to counter.
The important thing is to note how the foe is positioned a lot of the time.
A fight- is much like a game of chess, played at extreme speed.
Ideally- you only want to be fighting for a few seconds, or a minute at most.
1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this postThe techniques I'll teach you should help with that.
They have for me, at least.
I once found myself in a fight with- about- two men wielding knives, a third with a bat, and a couple that were using their fists. So all in all- five men.
They were members of a mafia that was trying to move in and set themselves up in town.
They came from Greece originally. Greeks have a history of good knife-fighters in their underground. After all- when dueling was still a big thing in the world- in Greece, they didn't use rapiers or pistols. They used knives.
1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this postI didn't only survive. I incapacitated all five.
I might have gone over-board on a couple. The knife fighters, they were.
Broken legs. I checked on their medical records- they should be able to walk again, thankfully.
A dragon? I think Ches mentioned something about a dragon coming out of the ground...
Something about green crystals- an energy source...
I wasn't really listening. I was trying to sleep.

Hm?
-looks down at Audrey-
Ah- you're here.
-throws one of the canes down to her-
That's just a little present.
-before he starts coming down off the roof-
