So, I'm from 1992, so I don't really know what's with everything going on here, but you seem to know about humans. What's your species called?

We're turians, from a planet called Palaven. Well, that's where our species came from, we weren't born there. I was born on a massive station called the Citadel, while she was born on a turian colony called Aephus.

As for the date, if we're going off the human common era, we're over two hundred years ahead of you.

Not really. I mean, without our tech we really are just two sets of people, not much difference.

-Lapino gives up and looks around the house-

Hey! Does anyone around here know where I can wash clothes?

Hm. I suppose people have stopped romanticizing the past as much as we do now. Your English is very nice, by the way.

Thanks. I grew up with a lot of humans, and my dad insisted I learn at least one language properly before I could get my own translator.

That's smart. It's very enriching to learn multiple languages. Hey, tell me- does French still exist in the future?

English is the System's Alliance official language, but there's a few colonies that speak it. Mandarin, too.

There's more than one turian language, too. Falcaen, Rokatir, Aelira... Falcaen is the one most turians are acquainted with.

Damn... I was hoping it would have died out... those Quebecois are too good...

Oh, you know, Falcaen "steals" the best words, Aelira is all about sounding pretty and taking three years to say anything, Rokatir is boring and uses too many compound words, that kind of thing.

Oh, that's just like human languages.

Falcaen sounds a lot like English in that respect. Maybe that's the key to success, stealing good ideas from other people.

It also helps that our unified government is founded among the same nations that the language comes from.
