-chuckles a little-
I've served with many over the years- and certainly... my old squad was quite- odd.
I remember telling- Tallis here, I think... about Zack. Now- Zack, he was the oddest of 'em.
Man was a good soldier- nothing special- except, he had this- odd aura about him. That not a single animal or bug ever wanted to be near him. On jungle operations- we'd all get mosquito bites, and what-not. But him? Never.
Not a single bite. He could be sitting in a swamp for hours, and nothing would try and bite him.
-sighs- It isn't that easy...
But- I get it.
We've all got our own ways of coping with things.

I don't necessarily mean- like- grab a gun, go out and shoot the bad guys. That's not for everyone, and well- you're 16, and you have a whole life waiting ahead of you.
But- I mean- that you can't shut yourself in boxes and wait for it to go away. Because if everyone did that- then who would change the world?
You have to be the change you want to see in the world. Want peace-? Work towards peace.

He always found that they had difficulties connecting to him.
But- sadly he passed away, rather ironically enough- to the one thing that did bite him eventually... it was a rattlesnake in America.
I can definitely help you yeah. I'm not- exactly a martial arts expert though.
I've got minor gunsmithing under my belt, but- well- I'm not the heir to the family business.
Ches is a better candidate to teach you. He has espionage, gun-handling and marksmanship as well as being a master in the martial art of Bartitsu.

So- y'know- as an improvised weapon, if you ever find a heavy stick, the principles from the latter bit...
But Ches has incorporated parts from other self-defense manuals.
My great great grandfather Sherlock Holmes famously used it.

But I'm sure you can find Ches pretty easily... he's- not exactly hard to find, if he's not working.
Y'know- bandages and all that.
-nods- Mmm...
Still. He was a good person. He had that kind of look- you know- the kind of people that just look threatening, the type you don't want to meet in a dark alleyway.
But he practically had the heart of a puppy. A puppy that had the nerves to serve in the SAS, but a puppy all the same.

He fumbled sometimes, but all in all- he was a good engineer. He managed to rig up a beaten up tank from WW 2 to help us when we were facing problems during an operation in Afghanistan.
Ammunition for the cannon was an issue, so he carved out the cannon to replace it with a small field gun that we managed to seize from the enemy.

personally I'm more curious about what your comrades were like
