He looks at the campfire, and then at Gerokir, his tone wistful. "Oh, no...Its fine. All of us are exceedingly old by our time. I'm surprised that we lasted as long as we did, and most of the older ones actually departed rather peacefully, with families on their side and content with their life."
"Some, didn't-continued fighting long after the rest of us stopped. Some died to beasts, some to men. Some to poison and some simply disappeared. But...I have no way to know how many of us are left beside myself. So-yes."
He shrugs. "Still, the last thing they wanted me to do would be to grieve for them, so that I won't. That-aside, I'm sure they are with their own gods now, in their various afterlife. No reason for me to be sad either-all of us were-and are- soldiers. Death is common and acceptable in our profession."
