Anglia. Originally, anyway. These days I'm from Newway.
-sighs- Right... well apart from his actions around here, thank you Silver for making it blunt, when this is probably some part of what he was hiding from you, Harriet.
The Red Winter was- what many believed- a natural disaster that shook the world. A blizzard, and a deathly cold winter that lasted an entire year. Crippling all the countries it affected, spreading chaos and disorder.
It took its' name from that disarray, how people were sometimes killed over resources- sometimes being the very simple thing of a heat source. Such it was, that sometimes if you walked down the street, you would see red snow on the ground.

Your 'Servant' was the man who worked towards creating the Red Winter.
He may have pursued magic in the interests of knowledge as well.
But his primary goal, when he studied magic after he left parliament- was to destroy the order of the world, so that he could impose his own upon it, using the ashes to create something new.
And when he came here- that logic continued. As far as I have gathered, when I spoke with Letholdhus, he has spent his time here- killing those he would see as obstacles to his path. Those he believes are too strong. Thus- he targeted other Servants.
He likely kept you in the dark, as a security measure. But if you want to hear it from the man himself- I am sure it is in that book. -he points to the one Harriet has-
This is the Red Winter that you knew about, Silver.
Her Servant.
Haaavee fuuuunnnn...
-shakes his head- Never heard of either of those.

...Where's Rin? She can confirm this, I'm pretty sure.

I don't know about that... if it's important to you, then it's worth considering.
-Shiki- Wow. Why would someone call you a vampire?
-smacks right into the door-
Awp— oh, there you are! I found your stuff.
-dumps the weaponry into Miyu's arms-
